Prophecy that appeals to the flesh is false prophecy, but all prophecy can provoke the flesh. The prophesied thing may happen, but if it empowers my flesh it's resisting my faith! The flesh and my faith cannot grow together. One has to die. For this reason, prophecy isn't supposed to be something I hear and then sit back like Jonah over Nineveh to see if God does it or not. No! Prophecy should get me talking and watching with God (watch and pray) so our connection grows as His word is fulfilled in a way that requires FAITH for me to see. Galatians 5:16-21 NKJV — I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery,...

Faith means God isn't interested in you seeing HOW he is going to save your world/situation/dream/promise. God wants those who are His to see Him.   He is the "how" of all of His promises. When God gives you a promise, learn to believe the promise, not the "how" you think God will use. Then you will be counted among the faithful, and protected from creating a false image of God. We see dimly. God sees clearly. He refuses to violate the boundary lines of or our heart. Your heart, or your mind, will, and emotions, is communicated with through your imagination. Ezekiel and Jeremiah are two great examples of how God practically communicates with man.  Ezekiel traveled all over the middle east in his imagination, or what is called "in the Spirit," communing with God.
