Perception
The trouble with this moment in time is the perception of enemies.
We don't fight against flesh and blood, but rather against an unseen enemy who hates everyone.
More and more, because we refuse to see people as precious and spirits as harmful, we are taking on spirits of anger, fear, violence, and hatred and thinking these are friends, and seeing people as enemies.
The church is upside down on this.
We are not going to win a war against people in the name of Jesus. He isn't warring against any person.
Jesus is orchestrating the perfect circumstances to save as many as possible by them laying down their strength and coming under His.
His strength is HUMILITY. If you took all the fruits of the Spirit and put them in a salad, it would taste like humility. The fruit of the Spirit of God is this:
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, goodness, and self control.
We want to be a people manifesting these traits by studying Jesus' emotions and not embracing the opposite traits.
Fear drives us to the flesh. The flesh, or our thinking, feeling, and will...as well as our appetites... These are at war with the leadership of the Spirit.
The enemy has done a pretty good job of getting the church into the flesh. Jesus LOVES the church, but calls her out of the flesh and into the Spirit, where it is safe...where all the fruit of that leadership is present. Jesus isn't calling us to a holy war against the Democrats or Republicans. He isn't warring against either side at all. He loves the people trapped in the fears.
Jesus is calling us to be the ones who calm down, see the real enemy, which is the spirits driving both sides to dishonor, hatred, distrust, and fear...And war against those spirits in our own hearts.
This is the basic gospel: for God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten son that whoever believes may live. We seem to have forgotten the first part of John 3:16...He loves the 'world'.
Jesus doesn't fear, hate, scheme against, or otherwise frustrate Democrats. He woos, loves, helps, supplies, has vision for, and died on a cross to save them.
Jesus doesn't fear, hate, speak evil of, scheme against or otherwise malign Republicans. He woos, loves, helps, supplies, has vision for, and died on a cross to save them.
Those who actually know Jesus love people, they don't fear them or dehumanize them.
If you want to manifest the fruit of the Spirit, you have to deny the leadership of the flesh and fellowship with the Spirit. That means you spend time talking to God about who you really are and how you actually see the people....the precious souls...he made.
God didn't call the church to win...he called her to love people by speaking the truth with a vision for a new government that is coming.
Fear is trying to get the church to align with the government ... And it is breeding a lot of hate for those on the other side of the same fallen government. The enemy is drawing both sides that God loves into a war against each other, and Satan literally dances on top of all that hatred untouched by the only ones who could put Him out of business if they would just try to see people the way Jesus does.
We can afford to be humble. It's the only true strength. Jesus isn't afraid of us being in chains here on earth. He died and rose that we wouldn't be filled with fear, hatred, and arrogance forever.
Ephesians 6:10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
13Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
18praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
19and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,
20for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
