Let Patience Work!
The character traits of Yeshua most necessary to successfully be transformed from the church that needs to change in Revelation 2 and 3 into the ready bride in Revelation 19 are patience and faith. The events of shaking/tribulation described in Revelation 6-18 are the perfect circumstances for those that want to be purified to experience it in patience and faith.
The Lord is leading me over and over to pray, "let patience have it's perfect work in me."
This prayer effectively opens my eyes to see where I lack patience, and consequently, I can follow that lack of patience back to a lack of faith.
The two are intertwined. If I trust God, I can wait on Him confidently. If I don't trust God, then I cannot resist the feeling in me to push and pull all the levers in life to make my world good.
It's mankind pushing and pulling the levers of life that has broken everything. We will never find the right combination of what to do and what not to do to make the earth, our lives, our families, churches, or nations good.
Only God is good. Only God redeems. Only God is wise. He made everything. He alone knows how it all works.
Lord, let patience have it's perfect work in me. As the need for a solution increases, let me not be fooled by my own impatience into compromise with worldly solutions and saviors.
Teach me to wait on you. To do only what I see you doing. If you are silent, I want to be silent. If you are speaking, I want to speak, too. Help me submit to your timing and ways.
Psalm 25:1-5 NLT — A psalm of David.
O LORD, I give my life to you. I trust in you, my God!
Do not let me be disgraced,
or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat. No one who trusts in you will ever be disgraced,
but disgrace comes to those who try to deceive others. Show me the right path, O LORD;
point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me,
for you are the God who saves me.
All day long I put my hope in you.
