Abiding Is Required To Recognize False and True
Knowing what God said is very different from knowing God, just as knowing what Mark Twain said is very different than knowing Mark Twain, or any other character from history.
Information can never save a person or make a person righteous, only abiding in... Knowing... God.There are many reasons that the flesh prefers to know about God rather than know God. Shame, pride, impatience, unbelief... These are just some of the reasons the flesh would strive to study God rather than die so the person could know Him.
We live in a moment where the false and true will get so close together that the only discernable difference will be the fruit of the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit isn't "the right information" or even the right emotional approach. The fruit of the Spirit doesn't show up in a conversation, it manifests in a life.
Being soft in a conversation isn't the same as being gentle in the way a person lives.
Taking the time to listen to someone isn't the same as living patiently.
Saying things in a way other people think sound loving isn't love.
Saying you want peace is very different than being peaceful.
Matthew 7:15-23 NKJV — “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. “You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? “Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. “A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. “Therefore by their fruits you will know them. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
There is a deceit we are warned of: imposters that say one thing but live another way. The false actually utter prophesy, cast out demons and even perform miracles, all in Jesus' name. They look and sound like SHEEP! Inside, they are wolves. They say all the right things all the right ways... They know about God, but they don't know Him.
Many are running into false litmus tests to prove "what is a real Christian?" This isn't because God is wanting this proved to anyone. God says some we think are wheat are actually tares and some we think are tares are actually wheat!
No. For those proving, an opinion is already formed by the flesh and now evidence is being gathered. The very attempt is to fall for Satan's lies which provoke our flesh.
Those truly in God don't figure out who is real and false... WE abide and the Holy Spirit tells us.
No abiding = No fruit.
Relying on clips of interviews, evidence, what was written, what was said.... None of that is abiding!

****How can someone who won't abide themselves identify someone else who is abiding?!****
Do not be deceived. There is great darkness all around us that the worldly church is calling light. On both sides of every issue where people are debating, proving, providing evidence, trying to control others into their view... on both sides... Satan is operating.
If you want to be safe, get into the heavens. You get into the heavens by coming OUT of the world. Most won't. They would rather save the world than be saved. You have to DO the Sermon on the Mount , not just know about it. Many houses are falling in the floods right now and the owners don't even know it yet. They are kicking around in knee-deep water astounded at how many are deceived and have no idea they themselves are falling away and about to drown. They cannot receive this truth because they can't be "wrong" without being "bad." Jesus only saves wrong and bad people. That's all he has to work with. The humble wisely embrace their need of God, not of information, evidence, and being on "winning teams."
Matthew 7:24-29 NKJV — “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: “and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: “and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
