One Life To Live, One Heart to Give
We all have the same God... The same maker, sustainer, healer and provider.
This means our only real limitation is our willingness to hear Him, believe Him, and obey Him.
We will all live incredibly varied lives. All of our lives will have tribulation and the possibility of deliverance; lack and the possibility of provision; sickness and the possibility of healing, etc.
Mostly we toil trying to control the areas of our lives only God can, and neglecting the few things we must do to grow into healthily connected beings... Abiding in the One Vine of life and fruitfulness.
Measuring life based on what other people strive in is a futile delusion. I only want to measure my life based on what God gives to me to meet my daily need. I want to grow in a real time connection to the life-giver.
Solomon built the temple, but David WAS a temple. David had the better part.
Things are not always as they seem. Some people are using the hardest circumstances to grow the best lives because they are simply thankful for the way God leads. Others waste every chance for gratitude in difficulty... Vainly wishing for someone else's life.
I only get one life to live, one chance to put it all on God's goodness and find out how good He really is. He has been very good to me. I want to learn how to see every circumstance as an opportunity for a miracle.
Some stop striving and toiling to build something for themselves, or for God, and simply become a dwelling place. Those are the few that will live forever.
Psalm 84:1-12 NLT — For the choir director: A psalm of the descendants of Korah, to be accompanied by a stringed instrument.
How lovely is your dwelling place,
O LORD of Heaven’s Armies. I long, yes, I faint with longing
to enter the courts of the LORD.
With my whole being, body and soul,
I will shout joyfully to the living God. Even the sparrow finds a home,
and the swallow builds her nest and raises her young
at a place near your altar,
O LORD of Heaven’s Armies, my King and my God! What joy for those who can live in your house,
always singing your praises.
Interlude What joy for those whose strength comes from the LORD,
who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. When they walk through the Valley of Weeping,
it will become a place of refreshing springs.
The autumn rains will clothe it with blessings. They will continue to grow stronger,
and each of them will appear before God in Jerusalem. O LORD God of Heaven’s Armies, hear my prayer.
Listen, O God of Jacob.
Interlude O God, look with favor upon the king, our shield!
Show favor to the one you have anointed. A single day in your courts
is better than a thousand anywhere else!
I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God
than live the good life in the homes of the wicked. For the LORD God is our sun and our shield.
He gives us grace and glory.
The LORD will withhold no good thing
from those who do what is right. O LORD of Heaven’s Armies,
what joy for those who trust in you.
