God Made Us to Need Him!

*All uncertainty about your eternal destiny comes from the tension of hoping you are good enough while knowing you make mistakes.

*All certainty (peace) about your eternal destiny can only come from knowing you make mistakes and placing all of your trust in the way GOD made for you to be restored, knowing you were weak, too!

God made you. He KNOWS what He made. When you and God agree you are weak and that it is fine because He knows what He is doing, then the longer you live the MORE certain you become that you need a Savior and that God has provided One.

You cannot earn your way to eternal life. The only way in is to yield your life back to the One who created it. Once you really believe this, you stop expecting other people to be "good" and you start living in mercy, both for you and others.

The problem the earth has is man trying to be God, instead of humbling ourselves to Him.

John 14:14-18 NLT — Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it! “If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you.

Obeying God isn't "doing nothing wrong," it is recognizing we ALL do wrong in our own strength and then humbly letting God lead us out of pride and to the safe place God has made for us. Humbling myself to see God knows me, and my weakness, better than I do.

Only pride living in us would tell us God expects us to be something other than the weak people He made.

He doesn't.

God expects us to choose humility and see we cannot be good on our own.

Pride tries to make humans God. Humility searches out the provision God has made for humans. Are you looking for the WAY God has made knowing you were weak, or wasting time trying to find your own way to God mistakenly thinking God wants you to be strong in yourself?

The safe place is drawing near to God. This is only possible by the sinless One paying for our sin. God made provision for our weakness before He ever made the first person. God is God!... He KNEW Adam and Eve would fail. He had already made a restoration... But only for the humble, not the proud. Look! God's plan sifts the humble from the proud so that all that will remain are those willing to be led, instead of those rebels who tried to be God themselves.

Very few will humble themselves and find the safe place. They would rather be good on their own than be saved. But salvation is a free gift for the humble. Knowing all about Jesus... The facts of who He was and what He did... is very different from humbling myself and letting God show me who Jesus is to me. God is the one doing the saving, not man.

We all know humility is what the world lacks. We all feel the pain of pride around us. Few will actually choose the humility of heaven. Those who do are peacemakers... They are the ones God enjoys, because He is a father to all and wants His children to stop fighting and to learn how to love as He does.

All our striving and religious activity never deals with our pride, it feeds it.

Luke 18:10-14 NLT — “Two men went to the Temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other was a despised tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer: ‘I thank you, God, that I am not a sinner like everyone else. For I don’t cheat, I don’t sin, and I don’t commit adultery. I’m certainly not like that tax collector! I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.’ “But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, ‘O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.’ I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

God isn't blessed by our effort. He enjoys humility. From humility He brings a witness, impact, and sons and daughters who live in the love of the Father.

1 Peter 1:19-23 NLT — It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. God chose him as your ransom long before the world began, but he has now revealed him to you in these last days. Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith and hope in God because he raised Christ from the dead and gave him great glory. You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply with all your heart. For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.
