Practical Preperation

People ask me all the time "what is the most practical thing I can do to get ready for the end times."

Generally, people expect me to answer something like "store food or water", " have cash on hand" or something along those lines. I don't subscribe to that sort of thinking at all. If God specifically tells you to store something material, do that, but the Bible doesn't say anything like that.

The single most practical thing a person can do to get ready for the end times is get filled with the Holy Spirit and then start learning to fellowship with Him. This is how you store oil.

The Holy Spirit is the advocate, the power of God on earth, and the comforter. The Book of Revelation is describing the failure of every lesser advocate, power, and comfort man has been tempted to embrace. Every thing that pacifies man's lethargy towards the leadership of Jesus is being removed so we will connect with His leadership fully before His return!

Haggai 2:6“For thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land;

7‘and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the LORD of hosts.

If every lesser power, advocate, and comfort is going...if every lesser pleasure is going away....what you really need is the superior comfort...the well of superior power and pleasure to come and take the place of lesser powers and comforts ... now, before you feel the pain of the withdraw of comfort and AND the offense that comes with it. The failure of physical comfort, advocacy, and power will offend many and cause them to betray Jesus:

Matthew 24:9“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.

10“And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.

11“Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.

12“And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

13“But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

God wants you to have ENDURING comfort, but you have to choose to let the comforter have His way in leadership. This takes time to yield your leadership to the Holy Spirit.

It is worth it to let God be the supernatural source in your life. It is exciting to live in the miraculous, but it takes desire expressed into situations that others would tend to ignore, worry about, or prepare for.

Now is the time to get fully immersed in the supernatural God. If your whole life is about experiencing the true pleasure of being filled by, led by, and touching the creator God, His return, no matter how disruptive, is only a really exciting experience. If you are trying to hang on to fading comfort, and it is going away, the end times are the worst time to be alive. Many lukewarm believers will be offended and quit because they assumed God was interested in their earthly comfort more than their eternal greatness:

Revelation 3:16“So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

17“Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—

18“I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

19“As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

Yes, comfort is going...every lesser comfort is fading away before your eyes...but the Comforter is increasing what is available in this hour...you have to respond....you have to make space for the Comforter to comfort His way. God will not take second place. You either want Him, or you don't.

John 16:7“Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.

8“And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

9“of sin, because they do not believe in Me;

10“of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more;

11“of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

12“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.

13“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

14“He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.

John 15:26But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

27And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

James 4:1Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?

2You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.

3You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.

4Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

5Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?
