The Key of David's Effective Prayer Life

The Key of David is supranatural confidence in the goodness of God.

Revelation 3:7-13 NKJV — “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”: “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. “Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. “Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. “Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. “He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’

Isaiah 55:1-9 NKJV — “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance. Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you— The sure mercies of David. Indeed I have given him as a witness to the people, A leader and commander for the people. Surely you shall call a nation you do not know, And nations who do not know you shall run to you, Because of the LORD your God, And the Holy One of Israel; For He has glorified you.” Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Isaiah 22:15-25 NLT — This is what the Lord, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, said to me: “Confront Shebna, the palace administrator, and give him this message: “Who do you think you are,
and what are you doing here,
building a beautiful tomb for yourself—
a monument high up in the rock? For the LORD is about to hurl you away, mighty man.
He is going to grab you, crumple you into a ball,
and toss you away into a distant, barren land.
There you will die,
and your glorious chariots will be broken and useless.
You are a disgrace to your master! “Yes, I will drive you out of office,” says the LORD. “I will pull you down from your high position. And then I will call my servant Eliakim son of Hilkiah to replace you. I will dress him in your royal robes and will give him your title and your authority. And he will be a father to the people of Jerusalem and Judah. I will give him the key to the house of David—the highest position in the royal court. When he opens doors, no one will be able to close them; when he closes doors, no one will be able to open them. He will bring honor to his family name, for I will drive him firmly in place like a nail in the wall. They will give him great responsibility, and he will bring honor to even the lowliest members of his family.” But the LORD of Heaven’s Armies also says: “The time will come when I will pull out the nail that seemed so firm. It will come out and fall to the ground. Everything it supports will fall with it. I, the LORD, have spoken!”

The Lord is putting the key of David into the hands of the humble who do not fear man. They are getting free of personal agendas, selfish ambition, and ministry building. They are lovesick and have learned a confidence that the world doesn't need their help, they are giving their world back to God, like David did.

Hearts like David are blossoming all over the globe. These are those who will certainly endure.

Psalm 27:1-6 NLT — A psalm of David.
The LORD is my light and my salvation—
so why should I be afraid?
The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
so why should I tremble? When evil people come to devour me,
when my enemies and foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall. Though a mighty army surrounds me,
my heart will not be afraid.
Even if I am attacked,
I will remain confident. The one thing I ask of the LORD—
the thing I seek most—
is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,
delighting in the LORD’s perfections
and meditating in his Temple. For he will conceal me there when troubles come;
he will hide me in his sanctuary.
He will place me out of reach on a high rock. Then I will hold my head high
above my enemies who surround me.
At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy,
singing and praising the LORD with music.

The wicked will fight in vain to make the world righteous. Those God is choosing will come into the heavens, gaze on the goodness of God, and be GIVEN victory because they see and believe that God is keeping everything already. He IS so good.

The self righteous will try to take victory using God's name in vain, but they will come to nothing. Watch.

God could destroy everything we think needs destroying, but He doesn't. He is perfectly keeping everything in His patience, goodness, mercy and hope.

If He destroyed every wicked thing, He would have to destroy us, too. The self righteous cannot see this. They war against themselves erroneously believing they are at odds with evil. We aren't at odds with evil until we come out of self righteousness and into the heavens, seeing things with God's eyes and heart. He is perfect. He is powerful. He is good. His way of waiting is excellent. He needs no assistance in dealing with evil. He is willing to deal mercifully with us if we are willing to humble ourselves and be honest with Him.

That is the heart after Him.

If I want to respond rightly to this word, I spend time learning gratitude for all God is doing to keep me, despite the lies and threats from the enemy against me. I come out of striving and into abiding. I humble myself and especially my fears and anxieties and learn to see I have always been safely kept. I stop trying to be God to the world around me.

Anyone can do this. The Bible promises few will, because of doubt and unbelief. Most would rather be for war than peace when they see an enemy coming.
