The merciful wait
Isaiah 30:15-21 For thus says the Lord God , the Holy One of Israel: “In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” But you would not, And you said, “No, for we will flee on horses”— Therefore you shall flee! And, “We will ride on swift horses ”— Therefore those who pursue you shall be swift! One thousand shall flee at the threat of one, At the threat of five you shall flee, Till you are left as a pole on top of a mountain And as a banner on a hill. Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him. For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; You shall weep no more. He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry; When He hears it, He will answer you. And though the Lord gives you The bread of adversity and the water of affliction, Yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore, But your eyes shall see your teachers. Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.
The Lord is waiting on the people of the earth to wait for Him to be their strength!
That is the point of this prophetic passage in Isaiah 30. After painting a picture of the destruction promised to those who trusted in man-based strength (horse and chariots speak of man's power), the prophet then declares that God will simply "wait." What is he waiting for? He is waiting for the people to settle down, and get serious about the place where the true power is... to turn all their desire to the One who has the true answer for the earth... There is only One worthy to own and govern the earth...the One who laid it all down to save the earth:
Revelation 5:5-7 But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.
The earth MUST agree that there is only One found worthy to govern the globe. Until they do, the trouble...the truth that man's leadership apart from God is evil...MUST multiply. God is the one allowing the trouble to multiply. Not because he hates the people of the earth, but because He loves the people. He is waiting to be gracious and show mercy, because He will not force TRUTH on the people of the earth. He will give them truth in measured increments, and as they wrestle with the consequences of truth, He will give the a witness, a bride growing more pure and more spotless through the trouble, to point the way to truth. Those loyal to Jesus will explain truth to the earth...the Gospel...step by step as the consequences for truth manifest! Those who resist the truth will feel the heat..the glory...the fire ... of truth "turn up" bit by bit, so they could turn to truth and be saved:
Leviticus 26:14-18 ‘But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments, and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant, I also will do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you. ‘And after all this, if you do not obey Me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.
Leviticus 26 explains the need for seven seals, seven trumpets, and seven bowls...21 increases in the intensity of truth coming to earth to make the way straight for the return of Jesus. God will wait as this unfolds and the people of the earth decide what they want. He is waiting for them to settle down, wait (tarry), and cry out for God to be the answer to the trouble in the earth.
Isaiah 30:19 For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; You shall weep no more. He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry; When He hears it, He will answer you.
Jesus prophesied this same thing, that the people who wanted truth would cry out, and God would wait for that to happen before releasing the only help that could save the earth:
Luke 18:5-8 yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ ” Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”
This is what God is waiting for: the people of the earth to turn to Him as leader of the earth. What God is doing is allowing trouble to touch the earth as people decide who's leadership they want: God or man? If you choose to agree with God's plan, you come out of the world and into His night and day crying elect...you become part of the solution!
This is the story of the end of the age, it is a time of decision. Specifically, it is a "valley"... a hard and narrow time of deciding if I want to wait for God, who is the TRUE yet invisible leader of creation, or if I want to go with the man who seems to be effective at bringing to earth what only Jesus can truly bring: peace, equity, abundance, and order. The antichrist promises hope and change, but what the earth gets is fire and violence and lack. The story never changes. Hitler, Castro, Mao, Stalin... those who promise the utopia of heaven apart from the righteousness of God are really selling death...everytime.
The antichrist doesn't overtly hate Jesus...that isn't what the "anti" means...the antichrist offers himself to the world as an alternative to WAITING on Jesus. He says "God wants us to get some stuff done for him." No. Actually God wants to be our strength. He wants us to do the stuff with Him...with God as the leader! Eventually, the antichrist will call those loyal to waiting for Jesus "evil." They will be the ones resisting his lies about God. Antichrist will blaspheme God, his tabernacle (those waiting on the Lord in night and day prayer), and those who died in the name of Jesus:
Revelation 13:4-7 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.
As God waits for the people of the earth to decide what they really want, the antichrist will grow in power and authority...this is because many want a tangible man and his government to promise to make the earth good. God is going to give the people what they want! As misguided people get more of the antichrist and his plans, they will actually get more death, destruction, and lawlessness, but the people themselves will grow more and more dull if they won't repent...they will believe the lies of the antichrist as he tells them "the earth is really getting better, you just can't see it!"
This is happening all around you right now. The Bible promises that another leader (another beast) will come alongside the antichrist. The antichrist is a political leader who comes out of the tossing sea of politics. The false prophet is a major religious leader who comes out of the stable earth oif old religion. The false prophet shares the same desire as the antichrist: that the government would be God to the people. He doesn't believe in waiting for Jesus to be the center either!
The false prophet believes the antichrist is the man who will bring the things of God to the earth...the only problem is that the false prophet doesn't feel like waiting on God, and takes it upon himself to appoint a man as God!
We should be watching for a major religious leader who believes the government should make peace, unify religion, and feed and clothe the poor on behalf of God. This is evil. This is the harlot system. Jesus' body should do these things LOYAL to Jesus alone. This is truth. Jesus is the only worthy leader of creation. We should watch for the false prophet and the antichrist to operate more and more closely...for the "global church leader" and the "global state leader" to start collaborating together, but outside of loyalty to Jesus alone. This is how they work together ("another beast" is the false prophet):
Revelation 13:11-17 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
The false prophet speaks like a dragon. He uses Bible verses, but twists them just enough to sway the people of the earth away from waiting for God in loyalty to His one and only Son. This is how the dragon always talks:
Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”
Luke 4:9-13 Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you,’ and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” And Jesus answered and said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ” Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time.
The false prophet "looks like a lamb"...that means He is a Christian leader...even appearing to be much like Jesus...caring for the poor and widows, washing feet, healing the sick. Many in Islam will think he is Isa, which is their name for another Jesus who didn't die on the cross, and who they are waiting to appear and declare that he is not the son of God and that all people should worship "the God of the Book", Allah. The false prophet will be a Christian leader in uniting the religions of the earth into the Harlot Babylon religion. He will do this by watering down the identity of Jesus.
Many...millions...maybe billions...will believe that this man (the false prophet) literally speaks for God, and he will comfort them to take the mark of the beast, which is the antichrist's plan for a global united and stable currency. The false prophet will turn the hearts of the people from the invisible son of God, to the humanistic messiah (antichrist) who will appear to be effective at bringing hope and change to the earth:
II Corinthians 11:13-15 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.
Paul warned that the false message of Christ would be very enticing, because it would appeal to our nature to want to make life better...it will seem like wisdom...just like Eve found the fruit good for making one wise:
II Corinthians 11:3-4 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it!
The false prophet will not come out right away and deny Jesus came in the flesh...he will work his way up to it as he draws Islam, Judaism, and Christianity together. But this IS where it is going:
I John 4:1-3 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
The antichrist and the false prophet will collaborate together to bring peace to the earth and goodwill to mankind. They will celebrate each other as great statesmen...great lovers of humanity. They will operate powerfully in the "spiritual realm" but not in a way loyal to Jesus. They will use the name of "another Jesus.". Just saying Jesus' name is different than bearing His name in your actual choices for holiness.
This is the time the earth is in. We are being hemmed into a valley of decision:
Joel 3:11-14 Assemble and come, all you nations, And gather together all around. Cause Your mighty ones to go down there, O Lord . “Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; For there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations. Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down; For the winepress is full, The vats overflow— For their wickedness is great.” Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
The nations are drawing together. The old order is disappearing as the antichrist literally changes and dissolves the old animosities and alliances. In secret, he is drawing the nations in humanistic unity, and drawing in a powerful religious supporter.
God has warned in the Bible of this time for thousands of years. When these things begin happening, God says: pick your leader now!...multitudes are heading into the valley of deciding. You can fight like Jehoshaphat, who sang songs as his military plan, or you can fight like the nations, using swords and man based strength...you will get what you want. "Waiting to see" is also choosing. If you "wait to see", God will help you not see!
Whatever weapon you pick, you will have to live with. The valley of decision is a spiritual valley. You can't fight a spiritual problem with physical strength. Swords and guns won't work. Hiding yourself in a bunker will hide you from the plans God has! Faith and patience...waiting on God...crying out to Him is the only plan that will work:
Revelation 13:9-10 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
This is unfolding right now. The people of the earth are tired of waiting for rescue, but they also are unwilling to cry out day and night for the true leader of the earth to come. The antichrist is appealing to impatience, and is leading the masses to agree with him in pressing out the old order and uniting in man-based strength.
Man-based unity waters down the fundamentals of religion so people can tolerate each other...so they can co-exist. Jesus wants "Jesus-centered" unity, where people loyal to Him display more and more of who He really is...they love what He loves and hate what He hates. this will create a fundamental company of people who believe the Bible literally, believe in the literal power of the Holy Spirit to carry them through anything, and believe in the literal power of prayer...crying out day and night for MORE power to come. this is the valley of decision. This is the end of the age!
Luke 21:34-36 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
Watch. Pray. Be Ready.

Whatever weapon you pick, you will have to live with. The valley of decision is a spiritual valley. You can't fight a spiritual problem with physical strength. Swords and guns won't work. Hiding yourself in a bunker will hide you from the plans God has! Faith and patience...waiting on God...crying out to Him is the only plan that will work:
Revelation 13:9-10 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
This is unfolding right now. The people of the earth are tired of waiting for rescue, but they also are unwilling to cry out day and night for the true leader of the earth to come. The antichrist is appealing to impatience, and is leading the masses to agree with him in pressing out the old order and uniting in man-based strength.
Man-based unity waters down the fundamentals of religion so people can tolerate each other...so they can co-exist. Jesus wants "Jesus-centered" unity, where people loyal to Him display more and more of who He really is...they love what He loves and hate what He hates. this will create a fundamental company of people who believe the Bible literally, believe in the literal power of the Holy Spirit to carry them through anything, and believe in the literal power of prayer...crying out day and night for MORE power to come. this is the valley of decision. This is the end of the age!
Luke 21:34-36 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
