Meekness is the Telltale of a True Witness

Luke 24:47-49 NKJV — “and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. “And you are witnesses of these things. “Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”

At the very center of what it means to be a witness of Yeshua is HIS personality, not mine.

The Spirit of Jesus is what we see His personality to be in the Gospel.  This is because Jesus successfully denied His flesh.  Because of the humility of Jesus, we see God's personality shine through Jesus' actions, words, and teachings. Jesus got out of the way so God's will could shine through. "Not my will but Yours," was the final statement of love and obedience Jesus left the earth with.

Jesus said, "If you've seen me, you've seen the Father."

John 14:9 NKJV — Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

If I want to be a witness of who Jesus is, then I cannot violate who He is to accomplish it. Just as Jesus witnesses to the earth who God really is by coming as a man fully yielded to God, I must be fully yielded as well.

This is what it means to be "Spirit-led." This isn't just a New Testament reality.  This is what God always promised the Jewish Messiah would be like.  This is the only witness that is helpful to Israel, who God wants to lead out of self saving and into meekness.  This is the witness that reaches into the hearts of all who would saved by the God of Abraham.

Isaiah 42:1-4 NKJV — “Behold! My Servant whom I uphold,

My Elect One in whom My soul delights!

I have put My Spirit upon Him;

He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. He will not cry out, nor raise His voice,

Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed He will not break,

And smoking flax He will not quench;

He will bring forth justice for truth. He will not fail nor be discouraged,

Till He has established justice in the earth;

And the coastlands shall wait for His law.”

At the very core of what God wants in witnesses is MEEKNESS.  No meekness = false witness.

*God doesn't want our emotions on display, as these compete with Jesus' personality.  We don't love truth more than God. We aren't pained by sin more than God. We aren't more loving than God is.

*He doesn't want our opinions about what His Word means. These compete with His Revelation.

*God doesn't want our plans and schemes to usher in His kingdom, as these compete with His ways.

Psalm 119:5 NKJV — Oh, that my ways were directed To keep Your statutes!

Psalm 119:59 NKJV — I thought about my ways, And turned my feet to Your testimonies.

Isaiah 55:8-9 NKJV — “For My thoughts are not your thoughts,

Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

So are My ways higher than your ways,

And My thoughts than your thoughts.

If I stop trying to be what God wants in front of other people, and instead let the personality of Jesus overtake my own, then I will be a true representative of His.

Jesus talks a certain way. He feels a certain hope and joy and peace in the midst of circumstances that leave me discouraged , depressed and anxious.  Jesus believes the Father, not the world.  To die to myself and let Christ live in me means I do things very differently than the world.  It means my emotions have to yield to His. My thoughts and actions have to take a back seat to Gods.  God's ways aren't designed to appeal to the world... They are designed to witness God. His way... So that those who want to come out of the world know where to go.

Anyone that tries to make the world righteous apart from a desire to mirror God's personality is antichrist... Competing with the Meek One, not helping Him.  Any human strength that finds Jesus' meekness too ineffective is a false witness, not a true one.  Jesus doesn't believe, nor join to, anyone that thinks they have a better way than God's patient way of saving the world. Win the world, lose your soul.

The meek will inherit the earth, not the humanly-effective.  Those who go after another will follow that other right into the pit. The spirit of antichrist is leading most astray, even those who think they know who antichrist is. If you act like him, you are like him.  The spirit of antichrist doesn't care if you like antichrist... It just wants you to act like him. Self-righteousness is the main attribute of the antichrist spirit.

Psalm 37:11 NKJV — But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

You see, this is the true heart of David.  A corrupt understanding of why David pleased God will mislead many from what truly pleased God.

God didn't overlook David's sin because David was effective. No!  David was made effective by God because when he was shown his sin he ran to God in repentance. David was meek. That is why God was his strength.

Meekness is the witness that will reach and change Israel from self saving into saved by God. Meekness is the witness that will judge Babylon. Meekness is the witness that will rightly represent God to the world and meekness is the character that will rule and reign with God forever.

No meekness = no agreement with God

Meekness is the main indication of faith.  Those that truly trust in God can afford to wait on Him.  Meekness pleases God because faith pleases God.  God isn't impressed with arrogant effectiveness or apathetic ineffectiveness.  He delights in those who could, but don't, because they trust in God.

Matthew 5:5 NKJV — Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.
