Maturing Relationship
As my relationship with God matures, what I find my heart wants is not for Jesus' to give me what I want, but to give me WHAT to want. If my desire is in sync, my desire becomes my reality.
Psalm 37:3Trust in the LORD, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
4Delight yourself also in the LORD,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
5Commit your way to the LORD,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
If I get what my heart wants right now, I will grow in what I am right now. I want my heart to change at the same pace my relationship with Jesus is advancing, then I will grow more like Him. That's better. I don't want Jesus to just approve of me the way I am. I want Him to draw me into greatness...As he defines great.
Itching ears want to hear over and over "everything is just fine as you are right now"... But those truly determined to be ready to meet him are unsatisfied with anything less than actually changing into ready. This makes repentance satisfying...This is deeper than the initial doctrine of salvation. It gets to the heart of the matter: if we are all simply approved without changing, and empowered as we are, then at the end of the day earth is just as evil as it is now...Only more intensely. If we want the earth to be new...To be different...Then we actually have to act differently. Right now many are digging into their side, identity, theology....And the earth is dividing. Heaven is coming to earth. We need to be way more heavenly minded.
Once, a pastor told me I was becoming too heavenly minded to be any earthly good. That is ridiculous. That is a statement only someone who loves the earth the way it is right now would make. I want earth to be much better....Much more kind, gentle, self controlled, patient, loving, faithful...i don't want heaven to conform to the earth! That would make it just as dull, murderous, fruitless, and vain as we have right now. No! I want earth to conform to heaven...Heaven is clean and satisfied. We go where we are looking.
We need new. We really do. That is what grace is for. Everything alive is either growing or dying. For this reason, to not get serious about repentance...Tearing the heart...Right now is to be getting serious about falling away.
I want to be as clear as possible. I see a lot of people falling away right now. I see people growing in anger, pride, hatred, immorality, lying...A lot of lying...Right now...In churches. It won't work. It won't last. Heaven will have nothing to do with this:
Revelation 21:7“He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
8“But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
We are all making a choice today, whether we acknowledge it or not. Get ready. He's coming.
Hebrews 6:1Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,
2of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3And this we will do if God permits.
4For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,
5and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,
6if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.
7For the earth which drinks in the rain that often comes upon it, and bears herbs useful for those by whom it is cultivated, receives blessing from God;
8but if it bears thorns and briers, it is rejected and near to being cursed, whose end is to be burned.
9But, beloved, we are confident of better things concerning you, yes, things that accompany salvation, though we speak in this manner.
10For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
11And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end,
12that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
