Nisan 1

First day of the first month is really important in the Bible. That day starts at sundown tonight and is called Nisan 1. Tons of important things have happened on that day, and they are all about sanctification, especially in light of Passover. Passover was the death of the firstborn of not only the enemies of God, but the apathetic among the enemies. Passover required a response. To get ready.

On this same day, several times in Biblical history, a cleansing of the tabernacle/temple, and even the whole earth began on this day. The flood waters were dried on this day, and Moses built the Tabernacle of the Tent of meeting....A picture of David's Tabernacle...Was constructed on this day. Ezra left Babylon to rebuild the Temple on this day, and Hezekiah began purifying the first temple that was in ruins on this day...

Genesis 8:13And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, that the waters were dried up from the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and indeed the surface of the ground was dry.

Exodus 40:17And it came to pass in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was raised up.

2 Chronicles 29:16Then the priests went into the inner part of the house of the LORD to cleanse it, and brought out all the debris that they found in the temple of the LORD to the court of the house of the LORD. And the Levites took it out and carried it to the Brook Kidron.

17Now they began to sanctify on the first day of the first month, and on the eighth day of the month they came to the vestibule of the LORD. So they sanctified the house of the LORD in eight days, and on the sixteenth day of the first month they finished.

Ezra 7:8And Ezra came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king.

9On the first day of the first month he began his journey from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.

Ezra 10:16Then the descendants of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest, with certain heads of the fathers’ households, were set apart by the fathers’ households, each of them by name; and they sat down on the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.

17By the first day of the first month they finished questioning all the men who had taken pagan wives.

18And among the sons of the priests who had taken pagan wives the following were found of the sons of Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brothers: Maaseiah, Eliezer, Jarib, and Gedaliah.

19And they gave their promise that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they presented a ram of the flock as their trespass offering.

Esther 3:7In the first month, which is the month of Nisan, in the twelfth year of King Ahasuerus, they cast Pur (that is, the lot), before Haman to determine the day and the month, until it fell on the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar.

Ezekiel 45:18‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “In the first month, on the first day of the month, you shall take a young bull without blemish and cleanse the sanctuary.

19“The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering and put it on the doorposts of the temple, on the four corners of the ledge of the altar, and on the gateposts of the gate of the inner court.

God also repaid Nebuchadnezzar for his work in Tyre on this day. Tyre was the mythical birthplace of Europa, who was kidnapped by a Bull...Taurus. Tyre and the bull, Taurus, are symbolic of the merchant city of Tyre. It is no coincidence that there is a bull on Wall Street.

Ezekiel 29:17And it came to pass in the twenty-seventh year, in the first month, on the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

18“Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon caused his army to labor strenuously against Tyre; every head was made bald, and every shoulder rubbed raw; yet neither he nor his army received wages from Tyre, for the labor which they expended on it.

19“Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: ‘Surely I will give the land of Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; he shall take away her wealth, carry off her spoil, and remove her pillage; and that will be the wages for his army.

20‘I have given him the land of Egypt for his labor, because they worked for Me,’ says the Lord GOD.
