Repentance

a good friend asked me a good question today, and I thought I would share it. I'm sure others might be wondering the same sort of thing:

Question:

How do I repent of taking a social security number? I don't want to make a formula....I'm just unsure of how to repent of relying on it for things?

Another question about the mark of the beast.... Do people have a chance to repent of that if they have taken it? Is their mercy for that or is it to late at that point?

My Answer:

The important principle is to talk to Jesus and ask him about your heart related to a SS number. I would repent in any way he shows you to. For me, repentance means I'm not going to worry about someone getting my SS number (Im not going to worry about protecting it), and I am going to be praying into not worry about keeping my ability to work, or the other benefits of having a social security number. I am asking him to make me aware of how to free myself of the identity connected to it (if any).

The SS number is not the mark of the beast...just to be clear.

The mark of the beast is a process of becoming reprobate. I think an important distinction about the mark of the beast is that the word translated "receive"in Revelation 3:16 is didomee, which actually is more often translated to "give".

So, to answer your question, in the context of biometric identity, If someone has GIVEN their mark (charagma), or etching, to the antichrist system for the purpose of buying or selling, they run the risk of not being ABLE to repent...which means growing in rebellion to the point they won't repent. Anyone can always repent...but repentance is something worked out by the Holy Spirit...growing in the mark...what I mean is, continuing to tell yourself you haven't done anything wrong in giving the mark to the antichrist system, keeps you from repenting, and there comes a point where that hardness of heart will lead people to worship the antichrist. Once that happens, the Bible says you must be destroyed in the lake of fire. Note the word translated "receives" in the next passage is an entirely different than the word translated "receive" in Revelation 13:

Revelation 14:9-10 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, (10) he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.

The word "receives" in this passage is lam-ban'-o

which means: A prolonged form of a primary verb, which is used only as an alternate in certain tenses; to take (in very many applications, literally and figuratively [probably objective or active, to get hold of; whereas G1209 is rather subjective or passive, to have offered to one; while G138 is more violent, to seize or remove]): - accept, + be amazed, assay, attain, bring, X when I call, catch, come on (X unto), + forget, have, hold, obtain, receive (X after), take (away, up).

So "holding onto" (lambano) the identity you gained by initially "giving" (didomee) your mark to the antichrist system is the action that leads to worshiping the beast and becoming reprobate. Its the holding onto the mark that solidifies the many choices that lead up to it, and leads to antichrist worship.

The short answer to the question is "they can repent IF they can repent"
