Fire Pt. 2
God isn't like a fire, God is a fire. The Bible makes this reality clear. The Holy Spirit is fire:
Revelation 4:5And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices. Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
Jesus, in His true state, is a fire:
Revelation 1:16He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength.
The Father is a fire:
Hebrews 12:29For our God is a consuming fire.
Adam and Eve walked with fire inside of them. Adam was dirt until fire was breathed into His being:
Genesis 1:27So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Genesis 2:7And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
It was in this burning and shining that Adam and Eve, though uncovered with clothing, were unashamed. The fire inside of them shone out:
Genesis 2:25And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
When Adam and Eve rejected the leadership of the fire, God, in His Mercy, covered them and gave them a choice to reconnect to his leadership. Another life covered them, in the most shameful of ways...covered in the carcass of a beast not created in the image of God until...
Genesis 3:21Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.
22Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”—
His own son would cover them in the glory of His own choice to put on their shame. Putting on the covering of shame fallen man:
Hebrews 12:2looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne
Galatians 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),
14that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
By taking the shame of our own nakedness, or lack of fire inside, Jesus became the rightful heir of all who take in His promise, which is the fire, or the Holy Spirit, living back inside of man:
Philippians 2:5Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,
6who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,
7but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
8And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
9Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
When we take in His 🔥 we are called to let it consume every part of who we are...just as Jesus put on the fullness of our shame. This starts with the breath of fire into our innermost man at the moment of salvation. This is the catch of fire, or rebirth of our spirit in the fire of God:
John 20:21So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
22And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
This was the beginning of the "promise of the Father"...but not the end. The end is the full consumption of who I used to be in the fire of who Jesus always is. The disciples tarried for fire, and for wind, and for language to explain when it came. They were sent to tarry for fire, and in their own burning, invite others to burn. This is true apostolic doctrine:
Acts 2:1When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.
4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven.
6And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language.
7Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans?
8“And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?
9“Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
10“Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
11“Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.”
12So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?”
13Others mocking said, “They are full of new wine.”
14But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words.
15“For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.
16“But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
This is true evangelism: tarry until you are in a place to save someone else into...into the fire you are immersed in yourself. The 3,000 saved that day were saved into tarrying...they were saved into 🔥:
Acts 2:40And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.”
41Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
42And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
43Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
44Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common,
45and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.
46So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
47praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
Thinking we are saved into a worldly victory, prosperity, dominance, or a crusade to evangelize the nations into anything but voluntary lovesick tarrying-to-burn with love for Jesus is false apostolic doctrine. It's shameful to Jesus, who already bore the shame of a humanistic discernment of "good" and "evil" and the loss of fire that comes with it:
Revelation 3:16“So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.
17“Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—
18“I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.
19“As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
20“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
It's about tarrying with the 🔥 for the 🔥 (just like you catch a new piece of wood on fire)
Matthew 16:27“For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.
28“Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.” Matthew 17:1Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves;
2and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light.
3And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.
4Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
5While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!
David's Tabernacle, or night and day tarrying for fire, is the end time plan. It is in seeing my own lack of fire, mourning it, receiving increases of fire with meekness and not arrogance, that purifies my appetite, fills me with the mercy of God, sanctifies my heart, so I can see true doctrine that reconciles God and man, and man and man...
This gets me a cross of reviling, being hated and lied about, cast out and excluded by religious people, who are trying to build something instead of burn from the inside out ....
Matthew 5:3“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.
5Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth.
6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
7Blessed are the merciful,
For they shall obtain mercy.
8Blessed are the pure in heart,
For they shall see God.
9Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.
10Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
12“Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
13“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
14“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
15“Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
16“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
This is the shame of the fire. He took the shame of my lack. I'm not ashamed of the Gospel.
2 Timothy 1:8Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God,
9who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,
10but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,
11to which I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
12For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.
13Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.
14That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.
