Mark of the Beast
W/ regard to the Mark of the Beast, it's interesting that the actual words of the Book of Revelation list three specific realities:
1. The mark
2. The number
3. The name
Revelation 13:17and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Note the "or" that connects these three realities.
Most US citizens have a social security number. Back in the 1930s, when it was implemented, the Amish resisted it. I believe this is similar to Aadhar, which is the Indian biometric identity that I believe meets the Biblical qualifications of the mark of the beast. Similar biometric identities are being issued, even now, to well over half of the world.
Most of us have at least the number, if not the mark. In the US you really can't work without a SS number. According to the Bible, the number is just as binding as the mark itself.
The point is, if you discover you are already operating in something the Bible describes as evil, then you need to repent. You simply tell God you reject that identity and then you wait on Him to help you see how to fully reject it, over time.
Many take a false comfort that they haven't "taken" the mark, because they didn't get a tattoo or chip, etc. That is the wrong way to approach it.
You are already giving the mark unless you are repenting. The word translated "take" with regard to the mark is more often translated to "give."
The word (G1325 Didomee) means this:
"Outline of Biblical Usage:
to give
to give something to someone
of one's own accord to give one something, to his advantage
to bestow a gift
to grant, give to one asking, let have
to supply, furnish, necessary things
to give over, deliver
to reach out, extend, present
of a writing
to give over to one's care, intrust, commit
something to be administered
to give or commit to some one something to be religiously observed
to give what is due or obligatory, to pay: wages or reward
to furnish, endue
to give
to cause, profuse, give forth from one's self
to give, hand out lots
to appoint to an office
to cause to come forth, i.e. as the sea, death and Hell are said to give up the dead who have been engulfed or received by them
to give one to someone as his own
as an object of his saving care
to give one to someone, to follow him as a leader and master
to give one to someone to care for his interests
to give one to someone to whom he already belonged, to return
to grant or permit one
to commission"
Did you read that?! That is the word translated "receive" with regard to the mark.
Just not getting marked isn't the point...going in the opposite direction is the point.
The Bible promises a victory over the mark...not simply abstaining from it:
Revelation 15:2And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God.
I recommend everybody repent of the mark of the beast, whether you think you've taken/given it or not...everyone not repenting is taking/giving it right now. For real.
