Run Into The Light

Your presence changes the dynamic of the atmosphere you inhabit.

How does your presence change the atmosphere?  It's up to you!  Your presence can accentuate darkness or light.  You pick.

Our flesh reacts to darkness with more darkness.  But the Lord knows a better way. We can humble ourselves, decide we need to change, and bring light to dark places.

John 1:1-4 NLT — In the beginning the Word already existed.

The Word was with God,

and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him,

and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created,

and his life brought light to everyone.

-Light doesn't covet

-Light doesn't strive

-Light doesn't try to own anything because it owns all things

-Light doesn't argue or quarrel, gossip, slander, accuse, or complain

-Light doesn't demand its own way

-Light is unafraid and not threatened. It isn't provoked to react.

-Light is confident of its source...it emanates from....extends from.... abides in a source that never runs dry.

It is a complete waste of time to try and do things for God in darkness. If the light in us is darkness the deception is deep.  It would be better to do nothing but get filled with light than to spread darkness in God's name.

Just

  look

    at the leaders

      falling

       because

         of

           secret

             sin.

God isn't done bringing light and exposing darkness. It will find everyone out that names the name of Jesus. I promise. It will.

God rejects any help from darkness.   Deeds done in God's name but with dark motives mislead the world. God hates it.  We might think no one knows, but He does.

The point of our lives isn't to do good things for God, it is to be conformed to the light.

Love is the first thing... The protos... the primary... The main point.  Love for God and then for others.  If growing in love isn't the objective, then all light is lost.

Why did you or I wake up today?  It's to either increase light or resist it.  Those are the only two options.  There is no neutral ground.  Selfishness is darkness, and when we run on autopilot, we are naturally self-centered.  One must come to the light to be joined to it.  We come to the light by awaking to, and then out of, darkness.  This is a choice that must be made each day.

Everyday starts in darkness. We get to pick if we want to bring it to the light.

Exodus 27:20 NLT — “Command the people of Israel to bring you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to keep the lamps burning continually.

Psalm 27:1 NLT — A psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?

Psalm 36:9 NLT — For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see.

Psalm 43:3 NLT — Send out your light and your truth; let them guide me. Let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you live.

Psalm 97:10-12 NLT — You who love the LORD, hate evil!

He protects the lives of his godly people

and rescues them from the power of the wicked. Light shines on the godly,

and joy on those whose hearts are right. May all who are godly rejoice in the LORD

and praise his holy name!

Ephesians 5:8 NLT — For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!

1 Thessalonians 5:5 NLT — For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don’t belong to darkness and night.

1 Peter 2:9 NLT — But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

1 John 2:9 NLT — If anyone claims, “I am living in the light,” but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is still living in darkness.

Doing "God things" in darkness is the worst false example of Jesus.  Yeshua only did what the Father told Him to. This is why He is light.

Those who WANT to live in the light, also WANT to see where they don't.  They want their darkness exposed. Those who hide their darkness hate the light.  They would rather look good than be true.

John 3:19-21 NLT — And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.”

Welcome to today.  The light is shining. It will never be extinguished.  The world is growing dark, but only because of shame.  Anyone can come to the light today. The Light of Mankind can never be extinguished. He already beat death!

Few want the light. They speak of it, study it, tell others about it, but when it wants to shine on, and through, them... when it comes to expose their true motives

... they run, reason, and hide.

The true heart of David is to run INTO the light.  David's life isn't a story of how God used a sinner.  It's a story of how a sinner, every time His darkness was exposed, ran into God! Big difference.

Acts 13:22-23 NLT — But God removed Saul and replaced him with David, a man about whom God said, ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. He will do everything I want him to do.’ “And it is one of King David’s descendants, Jesus, who is God’s promised Savior of Israel!

Yeshua wasn't like David sinning and being used of God... He was like David running into the light.

1 John 1:5 NLT — This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.
