The Spirit of Elijah

The Spirit of Elijah is a Spirit of waiting on God.

From Kerith Ravine to Mt. Carmel, what marked Elijah was not anointing, it was humility:

1 Kings 17:2-9 NLT — Then the LORD said to Elijah, “Go to the east and hide by Kerith Brook, near where it enters the Jordan River. Drink from the brook and eat what the ravens bring you, for I have commanded them to bring you food.” So Elijah did as the LORD told him and camped beside Kerith Brook, east of the Jordan. The ravens brought him bread and meat each morning and evening, and he drank from the brook. But after a while the brook dried up, for there was no rainfall anywhere in the land. Then the LORD said to Elijah, “Go and live in the village of Zarephath, near the city of Sidon. I have instructed a widow there to feed you.”

1 Kings 18:28-39 NLT — So they shouted louder, and following their normal custom, they cut themselves with knives and swords until the blood gushed out. They raved all afternoon until the time of the evening sacrifice, but still there was no sound, no reply, no response. Then Elijah called to the people, “Come over here!” They all crowded around him as he repaired the altar of the LORD that had been torn down. He took twelve stones, one to represent each of the tribes of Israel, and he used the stones to rebuild the altar in the name of the LORD. Then he dug a trench around the altar large enough to hold about three gallons. He piled wood on the altar, cut the bull into pieces, and laid the pieces on the wood.

Then he said, “Fill four large jars with water, and pour the water over the offering and the wood.” After they had done this, he said, “Do the same thing again!” And when they were finished, he said, “Now do it a third time!” So they did as he said, and the water ran around the altar and even filled the trench. At the usual time for offering the evening sacrifice, Elijah the prophet walked up to the altar and prayed, “O LORD, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, prove today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant. Prove that I have done all this at your command. O LORD, answer me! Answer me so these people will know that you, O LORD, are God and that you have brought them back to yourself.” Immediately the fire of the LORD flashed down from heaven and burned up the young bull, the wood, the stones, and the dust. It even licked up all the water in the trench! And when all the people saw it, they fell face down on the ground and cried out, “The LORD—he is God! Yes, the LORD is God!”

God performed some of the greatest miracles in the Bible through Elijah, because Elijah's spirit was laid down... lawful... Weak (meek) in the flesh and given to the Holy Spirit.

This is what God is giving to the willing right now.  Few are willing to choose meekness. They are too afraid of losing this life.

Jealousy, impatience, control, gossip, complaining, manipulation, fear, and lust... And all the striving against man to get God to move that come with this paradigm of life... That is what marks the territory of the lawless. All men were born lawless.  Only taking up a cross, denying self, and following Yeshua can break that yoke of bondage to lawlessness.

Jezebel opposed lawful Elijah in lawlessness.

God is inviting anyone willing into peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, self control... And all the rest from striving that comes with actually trusting God instead of browbeating everyone else to do things for God.

If we don't embrace the Spirit of Elijah, then God will destroy everything we are trying to save in the flesh. Watch.

Our children... The fruit of our waiting for God to bring something forward... Are watching.  Most will run into more lawlessness in the bitterness and doubt of their soul instead of repenting, returning to the Lord, and giving up control for faith. Most. The road is narrow and few find it.

But, if you find an Elijah, mark my words... Safety will surround him.

Malachi 4:1-6 NKJV — “For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” Says the LORD of hosts, “That will leave them neither root nor branch. But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves. You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this,” Says the LORD of hosts. “Remember the Law of Moses, My servant, Which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, With the statutes and judgments. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”
