Safety = Setting Love on God
Philippians 1:15-16 NKJV — Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill: The former preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains;
The heart is deceitful above all things. How we think, feel, and what we decide to do on our own is usually about us and our own security, increase, and glory.
In this hour, many are talking about God, but not because of their desire to be thankful to Him for revelation.
Many feel lazy (so they combat laziness with action), fearful, ashamed, competitive, right, self righteous, angry, greedy, prideful... And these emotions are what truly motivates a drive to share what they think God is saying.
God sees.
God knows what truly motivates us. He doesn't buy our coverings of "for His glory" when it's really for our flesh. His glory is intact. It cannot be helped. We glorify Him when we settle down and submit to Him. Angry activists full of church help agendas don't glorify God at all... They simply expose their own flesh.
God is looking for people that set their love upon Him.
When I set my love on Him, what happens is I stop wanting people to approve me, accept me, love me, listen to me, and think I'm smart. It's stops being about influencing people and it's begins to be about knowing God. God leads us to share, but we can also lead ourselves.
I didn't learn this in a book, but rather from a decade and a half of sharing what God tells me, and, unfortunately, sometimes what I think, on Facebook.
Over time God leads us to discern what is us and what is Him and it all boils down to gratitude.
Gratitude?
Yes. The attitude that marks a truly anointed friend of God is gratitude. Gratitude is the attitude that keeps us from striving, despair, self righteousness, impatience, anger, and a world of sin that these emotions lead us to.
God is an amazing leader. He hasn't left the church in a hopeless state. He isn't wringing His hands about what she should do, or disappointed that everyone isn't doing the same things.
I'll say that again, "no one knows what the church needs but God."
I can only know what God wants for me to do. If I do it, that will have an impact on the world around me, but more importantly it will lead me to Him. He doesn't need me. God wants me. When I truly touch that truth, all of my striving fades and I'm left thankful. Thankful people sound different than self-motivated people.
God doesn't need you to do, or not do anything. He and His kingdom will be ok either way.
God isn't sad that you, and especially "other people," aren't perfectly executing His will. He made you out of dust and knows you need Him. He likes that.
Satan is putting a lot of pressure on humans to be good and this usually expresses itself as humans telling you how to be good, what to know, not know, how to act... All full of fear.
*Fomo,
*fear of what the bad people will do,
*fear of what the government is, or is not doing,
*fear of how bad the world is, the church is, Iran is, etc...
Satan knows this fear separates people from God (perfect love casts it out), especially when the fear, activism, and self righteousness is in God's name. Many church talkers, church coaches, online prophets, mom's with ministry, pundits, arm chair quarterbacks, those trying to feed their family with ministry, etc... many of these sell self improvement, or church improvement, in the name of God. There is no such thing. The only good thing the flesh can do is die to itself and let Jesus resurrect it as thankful, humble and leadable. The best church leaders are sheep, not shepherds.
John 21:17-18 NKJV — He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep. “Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.”
In this hour, much trouble is coming. It is coming because the Spirit filled church mostly isn't listening to the Spirit. It's mostly listening to its self and checking social media to see who else is listening to it. There is so much fear of not being influential. This is not from God.
Those giving in to this spirit capitalize on whatever everyone is taking about. The Spirit of Prophecy is usually talking about things BEFORE everyone else is. The flesh reacts and talks about what everyone is already interested in. It's not prophetic, it is reactionary.... Ozzy Osborn, Israel, Trump, Epstein, the latest revival center, IHOP... Whatever has everyone's interest, self focus wants to speak into, visit, be in the center of... Not because of setting love on God, but because it wants you to set your love (and attention, money, influence, etc.) on it.
Flesh attracts flesh. Do not be deceived.
There is a safe place. We can choose today to set our love on God, not use God to try and make something out of ourselves.
Psalm 91:14-16 NKJV — “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”
We have to be a people that recognize human nature, and discern the spirit of something. not to revile for reviling, but so we don't help people into Harlotry. There are no harlots when there are no clients. In Revelation 2, God doesn't reprimand Jezebel, but rather those that let her preach to them.
The church doesn't need to be saved from bogeymen like wrongly thinking Ozzy Osborn is, or isn't in heaven, Epstein, Trump, or whatever comes next... It needs to be delivered from self righteousness and fear into faith, hope and love.
A good exercise is to consider the last few things I have posted, liked/loved, or commented on...were they about me feeling self righteous because some other person was wrong, something everyone needs to know or we are all in trouble, or were they about me being thankful that God is good and knows what He is doing?
God is raising up witnesses of His glory, power, love, patience, kindness, and self control. Am I growing in these and expressing this growth and revelation from a heart of gratitude and judging every lesser thing by simply being light... Or wasting my time trying to build, or add to, consensus on what is good or evil? One is the flesh, the other the Spirit.
What Spirit/spirit am I of? Psalm 91 tells me one is safe and one is about to be thrown into a fire.
