Real Hope
The world has a spiritual problem that is manifesting in physical symptoms. That means the earth needs a spiritual solution, not a carnal one.
The war between Israel and Iran, though decisively won, didn't usher in a time of peace for Israel. Carnal wars will never be the source of peace on earth.
Only the Prince of Peace can bring real peace.
False hope fuels false solutions. What we hope in is very consequential. Hope determines where our energy goes.
The only true hope the Bible offers is found in changing hearts, not circumstances. God is inviting those that love Jesus to turn from false hopes and put our energy towards true hope... To be a shining light of real hope, not a misleading light of disappointing false help.
False hope includes political changes, economic changes, cultural changes, military strength, technological changes and the defeat of natural enemies.
True hope is found in our hearts changing into faithful people even as God shakes every lesser hope off of His throne. God is the only hope for mankind.
Watch Israel. Her only hope is found in turning to God. The IDF isn't a true hope any more than any other army; rising among the nations before humbling herself before God is no true hope. There are no accords, Abraham, Camp David, or otherwise, that will bring her peace, and no economic growth can push back the tide of collapse that is rooted in needing God, not money.
Psalm 33:13-22 NKJV — The LORD looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men. From the place of His dwelling He looks On all the inhabitants of the earth; He fashions their hearts individually; He considers all their works. No king is saved by the multitude of an army; A mighty man is not delivered by great strength. A horse is a vain hope for safety; Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength. Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy, To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in Him, Because we have trusted in His holy name. Let Your mercy, O LORD, be upon us, Just as we hope in You.
The same could be said of all nations, not just Israel, but God chose Israel, and specifically Jerusalem, as ground zero for real hope that will spread to the whole world. We should be praying for her to find real hope, not encouraging her to fight a war no one could win... A carnal war that just separates people from real hope.
The world is all in this together. God chose a family to bring forth a Messiah. The Messiah offers true hope, but it takes faith to walk in His leadership. Everyone who does shines real hope, but the mixture of Jesus language and worldly hope is a deadly cocktail of misleading and false light. That uniquely "Christian" mixture of what is true and false starts wars, it never ends them.
What is beautiful to God is when we hope in what is lasting and true and really brings peace and satisfaction even when politics don't change, economics don't change, our status in the world doesn't change... But our heart is changing...
Romans 5:1-10 NKJV — Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
Jesus lives a very specific way: loving enemies, praying for those who used Him, blessing those who cursed Him, giving away His money, not giving in to pride...
Anyone who wants that life will find real hope that will never disappoint. Anyone can seek Him. Anyone can ask Him. Anyone can knock on His door and find He opens their heart to real change.
May God bless you with real hope today. When every other hope fails, Yeshua, the Jewish man who is everyone's Messiah,
will still remain. He never changes.
