Neglecting God's Heart
There isn't anyone that doesn't need God to keep them alive.
There isn't anyone that doesn't need God for justice.
There isn't anyone ever that didn't need God for purpose or meaning.
There isn't anyone ever that didn't need God for everything.
God is patient and kind. He causes the sun and rain to fall on both the wicked and the righteous. He waits that we would individually come to the conclusion that we, and everyone else, needs God more than anything else. This takes the pressure off of the people and puts the weight of salvation on God.
If we truly believed this, we would be concerned about something entirely different than the world.
When a believer in Jesus has the same concerns as the world, they are worldly and not truly after the Lord's heart.
Matthew 6:23-34 NKJV — “But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? “Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? “Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; “and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. “Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ “For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
It is imperative to come out of the world to truly follow, and be a true witness of, Yeshua.
God loves the world. Obeying Him, resting in Him, and truly REPRESENTING Him is the best opportunity the world has to follow the Truth (Yeshua) into life.
Trying to be God to the world is to misrepresent God to the world as weak and needing humans to save humanity. That misunderstanding and trying to be God is the original cause of sin humans introduced to the world.
Though it feels righteous, this mindset is anti-Jesus. In like manner, having a hard and indifferent heart towards humanity is evil and anti-Jesus, as well.
All people not led by God are anti-God. He is only a creator and the rightful leader of what He has made. He has chosen humility as His leadership mode.
Jesus wept, but He didn't raise Lazarus to be the superior being or to show everyone how good He or His Father were. Quite the opposite. His willingness to NOT immediately resurrect Lazarus showed how important waiting on God is. He only did what God told Him to. God is like God. The Father enjoyed the sons humility, not activism. Even more so us, who have no actual ability without God.
John 11:35-37 NKJV — Jesus wept. Then the Jews said, “See how He loved him!” And some of them said, “Could not this Man, who opened the eyes of the blind, also have kept this man from dying?”
God isn't arguing about man saving the poor, or the virtue of neglecting the poor. God is the only one keeping everyone alive. The wise don't make arguments about obeying Him for other people. They just obey Him.
Luke 9:54-56 NKJV — And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?” But He turned and rebuked them, and said, “You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. “For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.” And they went to another village.
The people we slander are the very same ones Jesus is leading to salvation. If we want to be helpful to Jesus, we will take on His same mind:
Isaiah 42:1-8 NKJV — “Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth. He will not fail nor be discouraged, Till He has established justice in the earth; And the coastlands shall wait for His law.” Thus says God the LORD, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to the people on it, And spirit to those who walk on it: “I, the LORD, have called You in righteousness, And will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the Gentiles, To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the prison, Those who sit in darkness from the prison house. I am the LORD, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images.
No one will be the savior but God. Neglecting a concern for the condition of those all around us is evil and will be judged (it is to not have God's heart). So will accusing others of not being God to the world (also, not God's heart). There is just one God and He is still God.
True witnesses take the burdens off of people and put them on God.
Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV — “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
If we don't learn to truly humble ourselves and turn back to God now, the pressure will only increase. Many will fall away thinking they serve God because they could not accept that they needed to change and not everyone else.
