Generation of Jacob

God is raising up a generation that will understand His purpose and respond. This generation is called "Jacob" in the Bible:


Psalms 24:1-6 The earth is the Lord ’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters. Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord ? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the Lord , And righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, Who seek Your face.


WE are that generation, the Jacob Generation! In Matthew 24, Jesus described the signs this Jacob Generation will see...increasing in intensity and frequency...just as labor contractions increase and intensify...intensity, then calm...closer and closer...until hard labor happens, and then the Baby, called the Day of the Lord...what God called very good in the Garden of Eden, the supernatural spiritual realm rejoined to the physical earth realm...emerges and begins maturing again. Just like the dying of the earth that started in Genesis 3 has been a process, the renewal is a process, too! God is in no rush, He LIKES the process!


Jesus said the "Jacob Generation" will see the signs happening and they should KNOW they will see the baby born!


Matthew 24:32-34 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.


The generation is called "Jacob" because what is going to define this generation is their response to what God has laid before them. Just like Jacob "stayed in it" with the Lord, knowing that even though they were wrestling, He is a God who blesses, this Jacob Generation will respond to the Lord with spiritual violence, refusing to let go until they see the purpose...the blessing of the Lord released on the whole earth:


Genesis 32:24-28 Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day. Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him. And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!” So He said to him, “What is your name?” He said, “Jacob.” And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”


Matthew 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.


God says that what is happening to the earth right now is labor...labor is going to increase...the Bible is clear that both sin and rebellion, as well as righteousness and revival, are going to increase right until the very end. The wheat and the tares mature TOGETHER until the harvest. Sin and rebellion are harvested, and all those who agree with that kingdom are destroyed, but at the same time, righteousness is harvested, and all those who agree with the Kingdom of Righteousness are given bodies that will live with supernatural abilities on this physical earth forever.


Matthew 13:37-43 He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!


The Jacob Generation has some wrestling to do, because the truth of this passage is actually offensive to many who name the name of Jesus. The idea that believers will be on earth for all of the events of the Book of Revelation, and that those events are real and not symbolic or hyperbole, is actually offensive. Speaking privately to His disciples, Jesus warned of this:


Matthew 24:9-13 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.


Many are taking a casual "wait and see" approach to the coming intensity that is already visible in the earth. Many are expecting Jesus to remove everyone who knows Him before the victory...the birth...happens. But the Bible is clear that believers don't get raptured "away" to heaven, but rather changed in the twinkling of an eye at the 7th trumpet of Revelation, assembled on the sea of glass in the physical sky of the earth, and brought right back down into the Middle East with Jesus to begin the process of replacing every evil government of the earth with righteous leaders!


In the mean time, there is much "responding" for the Jacob Generation to do. The "spoiler" and the "destroyer" are going to be incrementally released by God to demonstrate to people the cost of trying to live a life apart from the author of life, and the Jacob Generation will be the faithful witness on earth guiding mankind into truth and salvation the whole time. God will supernaturally seal and protect the Jacob Generation as they respond in agreement to what He is doing to redeem as many as would choose Him:


Isaiah 54:16-17 “Behold, I have created the blacksmith Who blows the coals in the fire, Who brings forth an instrument for his work; And I have created the spoiler to destroy. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord , And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord .


God IS NOT going to remove everyone who knows Him and then reign down terror on a world full of people who don't even believe He exists! No! He is a GOOD FATHER! Instead, what is described in the Book of Revelation is God's brilliant plan to use the least intense means necessary, incrementally "turning up the heat," to reach the greatest number of people, at the deepest heart level, without ever violating their free will to say no to His love! This is described in detail in the Book of Revelation...the three step plan is outlined as seals, trumpets, and bowls!


The Jacob Generation will declare this in love, to the people God created and loves, the entire time!


Isaiah 24:1-9, 11-15 Behold, the Lord makes the earth empty and makes it waste, Distorts its surface And scatters abroad its inhabitants. And it shall be: As with the people, so with the priest; As with the servant, so with his master; As with the maid, so with her mistress; As with the buyer, so with the seller; As with the lender, so with the borrower; As with the creditor, so with the debtor. The land shall be entirely emptied and utterly plundered, For the Lord has spoken this word. The earth mourns and fades away, The world languishes and fades away; The haughty people of the earth languish. The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, Because they have transgressed the laws, Changed the ordinance, Broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore the curse has devoured the earth, And those who dwell in it are desolate. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, And few men are left. The new wine fails, the vine languishes, All the merry-hearted sigh. The mirth of the tambourine ceases, The noise of the jubilant ends, The joy of the harp ceases. They shall not drink wine with a song; Strong drink is bitter to those who drink it. There is a cry for wine in the streets, All joy is darkened, The mirth of the land is gone. In the city desolation is left, And the gate is stricken with destruction. When it shall be thus in the midst of the land among the people, It shall be like the shaking of an olive tree, Like the gleaning of grapes when the vintage is done. (And in the midst of it all, here is the Jacob Generation!!) They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing; For the majesty of the Lord They shall cry aloud from the sea. Therefore glorify the Lord in the dawning light, The name of the Lord God of Israel in the coastlands of the sea.


The wheat and the tares maturing together! When the wheat is finally mature at the end of the process, hear what the heaven says:


Revelation 19:7-8 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.





The response of the Jacob Generation will result in her becoming a Bride made ready through the wrestling, and the glory of our love...our response...for Jesus will be reflected even in the clothes he is preparing for us to wear forever!
