Ascending God's Mountain
This is the hour we are in, the hour that the Bride is becoming pure and spotless so that she will be ready to see God face to face. This is related to "ascending God's Holy Mountain":
Psalms 24:1-7 The earth is the Lord ’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters. Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord ? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the Lord , And righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, Who seek Your face. Selah Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.
The idea of climbing the mountain of God has many facets. There is a practical application of how to get your hands clean and your heart pure that Jesus showed us when he climbed a mountain and began teaching the Sermon on the Mount:
Matthew 5:1-3 And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Climbing the mountain of God begins with seeing where you really are to start with. If you see the need you have for clean hands and a pure heart, you are blessed, because then you have real incentive to climb. If you think "Jesus paid for all of that" but then never put to use the blood he paid to choose cleaner hands and a purer heart, then you are not blessed...you think you are rich when you really aren't:
Revelation 3:14-19 “And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eyesalve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
The hour we live in is the hour for climbing God's mountain. The Holy Mountain IS the threshing floor...literally. The temple mount in Jerusalem...the physical manifestation of God's mountain, it is where the harvest is brought in and sifted. Solomon built his temple on a threshing floor bought by David in a time of trouble:
I Chronicles 21:27-30 So the Lord commanded the angel, and he returned his sword to its sheath. At that time, when David saw that the Lord had answered him on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite, he sacrificed there. For the tabernacle of the Lord and the altar of the burnt offering, which Moses had made in the wilderness, were at that time at the high place in Gibeon. But David could not go before it to inquire of God, for he was afraid of the sword of the angel of the Lord .
I Chronicles 22:1 Then David said, “This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”
Here, we see another facet of climbing the mountain of God: worship and prayer. This is another form of wrestling... tarrying for the power to climb to come. Jesus told his disciples to climb and worship and pray so the harvest might be brought in:
Luke 24:46-53 Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things. Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven. And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and were continually in the temple praising and blessing God. Amen.
Those friends of Jesus, they understood what Jesus meant by "tarry"...they immediately went in to continual worship and prayer on that threshing floor...that harvest floor. They climbed the temple mount and prayed with the city, but they also climbed some stairs and contended for the power to come for a new thing... a new measure from on high:
Acts 1:8-14 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey. And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James. These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
These guys prayed night and day... Changed their vision of life...got cleaner hands and a purer heart, loved Jesus in their obedience to do the humble thing, which was to tarry in weakness...waiting for something previously unknown to happen...in the most deadly city to be a follower of Jesus....wrestling for the blessing, and, sure enough, the ancient gate....the veil between earth and heaven... Opened, and glory came in a little bit:
Acts 2:1-4 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
3000 got saved that day. The first taste of harvest came to that upper room...that small mountain of God.Wrestling through the night...that is the recipe for success in this final hour. The harvest is white in the fields, but there is only one way to bring it in: the original way - tarry for power and then when it comes, bring the harvest in and begin sifting...clean hands pure heart..and then more are added to increase the harvest tarrying...
"Jacob" is the name of the generation that chooses this. Jacob wrestled with God to get the blessing and see heaven open:
Genesis 32:25-30 Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him. And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!” So He said to him, “What is your name?” He said, “Jacob.” And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.” Then Jacob asked, saying, “Tell me Your name, I pray.” And He said, “Why is it that you ask about My name?” And He blessed him there. So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: “For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.”
Strength is not important when you wrestle with dad. The wrestling is what matters. Faith is choosing to enter into the wrestling confident that God rewards the wrestle with our own flesh, our own desire, our own will, the pull of the world, and God's leadership...
Hebrews 11:6-7 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
...this is what makes hands clean and hearts pure and changes us from mere men, like Jacob, to God's people Israel.
Jacob wasn't stronger than God, he was faithful to God.Your wrestle need not be strong, but it must be willing. We are in the time where many paralyzing false theologies are bearing fruit designed to steal from those who might otherwise wrestle ... The fruits of fear, apathy, and delusion. These are designed to keep the Bride from the simple but necessary wrestling... Tarrying...for power to bring in the greatest harvest of righteousness and see the king of glory come home!
God is going to rescue without the wrestle? No! He loves too much to violate the wrestle of love.
God is going to assign the gathering of the harvest to someone other than the Bride? No! It is her inheritance.
John wrestled to get the earth ready to receive her king:
Matthew 11:10-12 For this is he of whom it is written: ‘Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare Your way before You.’ “Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.
When the Bride has wrestled herself ready, the wedding...the end...will come. Are you ready to wrestle? Night is falling:
Matthew 24:7-14 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Revelation 19:7-9 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.”
