Identity

Family identity overrules titles. Titles are going away, sonship will not...it will grow forever. Get off the title path and get on the family identity course. One is going away and one is coming into focus.

If you are a prophet, you don't need to tell anyone, they will tell you. A true prophet relies on his prophetic identity, he doesn't assert who he is before men to get their recognition. It defeats the entire point of being a prophet. A prophet mostly lives in a heavenly reality, otherwise, how could they express heaven? Same goes for all the titles men would take:

John 1:19Now this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”

20He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.”

21And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.”

22Then they said to him, “Who are you, that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?”

23He said: “I am

‘The voice of one crying in the wilderness:

“Make straight the way of the LORD,” ’

as the prophet Isaiah said.”

24Now those who were sent were from the Pharisees.

John WAS the spirit of Elijah, and he knew it, but rather than say it, he relied on the Holy Spirit and instead spoke the truth which actually defined Him better than any name.

Revelation 3:1“And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, ‘These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.

Titles are temporary. True titles are given by God, though men in rebellion to God want honor from people...God's intimate names for them are not enough:

John 5:39“You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.

40“But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

41“I do not receive honor from men.

Matthew 23:6“They love the best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues,

7“greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, ‘Rabbi, Rabbi.’

8“But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren.

9“Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.

10“And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ.

11“But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant.

12“And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

John 5:43“I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.

44“How can you believe, who receive honor from one another, and do not seek the honor that comes from the only God?

45“Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you—Moses, in whom you trust.

Ephesians 4:11And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,

12for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,

13till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

14that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,

15but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—

This is where the church is going. Yes, God is restoring the fivefold...and those truly in the fivefold won't need to come in their own name.. They will come in the name of Jesus, and no one will move them, or establish them. They will be entirely established by the Father. They won't break off a bruised reed or extinguish a smoldering flax. To not agree with this reality will cost many their own greatness forever. I don't write this in condemnation, but in love. Jesus wants to give us all an identity... That identity is the reward. Families don't need name tags. Putting on a name tag makes you an outsider.

Revelation 2:16“Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.

17“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.” ’
