Honor
A prophet is honored everywhere except by those who think they know him/her and God.
Mark 6:3“Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” So they were offended at Him.
4But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house.”
Religious people are the ones who get offended with prophets. People that don't care much about God also don't care much about prophets. The intensity in the judgments causes people to care more about God and thus, more about prophetic statements.
The world in this hour is growing in religion, and thus, in division. The love of men growing cold is producing a hardness of heart at the exact same time technology is connecting people en masse.
Be very careful. The people in this passage below will mostly feel that they are doing God a service, even though they want the two most clear representatives of Jesus' heart murdered for simply agreeing with Jesus about his return. The two witnesses sacrificially serve the very people that celebrate their deaths! This is because delusion is growing at this time.
Revelation 11:5And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner.
6These have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire.
7When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them.
8And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
9Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves.
10And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.
Jesus proclaimed over the religious leaders in his generation that they thought they would have embraced the prophets of old, but that wasn't true. They would have killed them...just like they eventually killed Jesus.
If the light that is in my eye is darkness, how deep is that darkness. I want to find out right now where the words of true prophets make me bristle so I can deal with it, rather than grow in hardness of heart and delusion and want to see the very messengers of God killed rather than heeded.
Matthew 23:29“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous,
30“and say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.’
31“Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets.
32“Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers’ guilt.
33“Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?
34“Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city,
When the internet connects the world, a prophet will be dishonored by the whole world, because the whole world will think they know him/her. We are in a very dangerous and glorious moment of time. Information spreads like lightning. Don't be caught unaware. Don't be caught not knowing the voice of Jesus.
