True Unity Comes From Truth Telling
True unity comes from telling the truth and growing in love while doing so. This is a challenge. It takes Jesus' help. It requires prayer before speaking.
False unity happens by ignoring the whole truth and focusing on small agreeable details. This doesn't build up the body of Jesus, it tears it down.
Jesus is the fullness of truth. Every "white lie" that spares us from confronting truth hides some part of who He is. When we bring ourselves to see the truth, we have to admit that we desperately need Jesus just to see the truth, let alone agree with it.
Speaking truth in love imparts humility to the speaker because it requires we yield to Jesus in real time. It brings the speaker closer to the one who always loves and never lies. We commit to the truth and just simply try to say what He says about any given situation, and He empowers. We need to be more prayerful and less forceful right now.
The pressure of what people think about us, called the fear of man, is a snare. It leads us to flatter those who need correction, to be silent in the face of clear injustice, and to increasing confusion about what is true.
Jesus is sifting out a pure and spotless bride from the church who will administer truth in love forever. Now is the time to be sifted in to the truth. That simply requires a commitment to be totally true, to repent of flattery, and move into a righteousness only Jesus can impart.
If we won't stand for truth now, we won't stand for Jesus now. He is the way, the truth, and the life.
Jesus isn't a politician, nor is He a false, half-hearted, or indifferent friend. He doesn't use someone else's delusion to increase His acceptance. He absolutely does not compromise to gain support...in fact, He insists on sifting and purifying anyone who wants to follow Him. He tells the truth and knows it is all that will remain. Everything else will burn in the fire of the light of truth.
Ephesians 4:14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,
15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—
16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
