Living With God = Praying With God
If I live prophetically, I'll pray prophetically.
My prayer life simply is a reflection of my practical decision making... My prayer life reflects the way I live. The mouth reveals what's really in my heart, and prayer is really just talking to God.
If I pray prophetically, I'll live prophetically. My life is the fruit of my abiding in God.
These two realities are intertwined. I can see how well I hear and rely on God in both the way I live and the way I pray.
Talking at God isn't really prayer. Talking with God is prayer. That is all "prophetic" means: hearing God and believing what He says in faith that manifests in embracing the revelation He gives.
The key to learning a prophetic prayer life is to learn a prophetic life in general. We all get hundreds of choices to make every day. We make choices in what we spend our time thinking about, what we fill our eyes, ears, and hearts with, how we treat spouses, children, friends, co-workers and the people around us, money, time, dreams, etc...
All of these choices we can make in faith with God or on our own. If we make most of the choices on our own, then praying with God is very unnatural and laborious. If I learn to make all my choices with God, then prayer becomes a natural extension of that and is fun, full, rewarding, and powerful.
And vice versa...
Galatians 5:22-26 NKJV — But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
If I live in the Spirit, I'll walk in the Spirit. If I walk in the Spirit, I'll live in the Spirit. Strength to strength, glory to glory, faith to faith... Step by step.
