Even so Come
You don't want to stay the hand of God in bringing the end time judgment...that isn't what Jesus wants, according to the Bible. The "even so" in this passage means "I don't care what comes with you, I want you here":
Revelation 22:20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
Many, in the name of "national revival" want to keep the hand of God's judgment at bay for a couple more decades. "One more great awakening" is what they want...but that isn't the Biblical plan for this hour. Awakenings...all of them...have faded with time.
Jesus is doing something brand new. There is an end time revival, but the last revival is much more than an increase of salvation and some signs and wonders. The last revival that hits the globe once Israel is re-established as a nation...that is the one that brings the kingdom of God to earth.
By the simple prophetic promises coupled with the signs of the times, this coming revival is way more than an awakening. It is the beginning of the restoration of all things. It will not fade. It won't stay the hand of God, it IS the hand of God...it is coming with His hand of judgment. Jesus MUST come with tribulation...there is a ton of information about this in the Bible.
Isaiah 24:1-13 Look! The lord is about to destroy the earth and make it a vast wasteland. He devastates the surface of the earth and scatters the people. Priests and laypeople, servants and masters, maids and mistresses, buyers and sellers, lenders and borrowers, bankers and debtors—none will be spared. The earth will be completely emptied and looted. The lord has spoken! The earth mourns and dries up, and the land wastes away and withers. Even the greatest people on earth waste away. The earth suffers for the sins of its people, for they have twisted God’s instructions, violated his laws, and broken his everlasting covenant. Therefore, a curse consumes the earth. Its people must pay the price for their sin. They are destroyed by fire, and only a few are left alive. The grapevines waste away, and there is no new wine. All the merrymakers sigh and mourn. The cheerful sound of tambourines is stilled; the happy cries of celebration are heard no more. The melodious chords of the harp are silent. Gone are the joys of wine and song; alcoholic drink turns bitter in the mouth. The city writhes in chaos; every home is locked to keep out intruders. Mobs gather in the streets, crying out for wine. Joy has turned to gloom. Gladness has been banished from the land. The city is left in ruins, its gates battered down. Throughout the earth the story is the same— only a remnant is left, like the stray olives left on the tree or the few grapes left on the vine after harvest.
Instead of giving false, pacifying, and lesser hope about a national revival..a few more years of the good life without Jesus home on earth...you want to simply understand and tell the truth: Jesus is coming back to lead the earth for real! That means He is changing the leadership of every city on the planet.
Psalms 110:5-6 The Lord is at Your right hand; He shall execute kings in the day of His wrath. He shall judge among the nations, He shall fill the places with dead bodies, He shall execute the heads of many countries.
You really want to get ready for that. Every city that goes hard after repentance by worshiping Jesus and calling on Him for themselves in advance will experience revival, and every city that does not, will experience the pain of judgment. Look at what comes next in Isaiah 24:
Isaiah 24:14-17 But all who are left shout and sing for joy. Those in the west praise the lord ’s majesty. In eastern lands, give glory to the lord . In the lands beyond the sea, praise the name of the lord , the God of Israel. We hear songs of praise from the ends of the earth, songs that give glory to the Righteous One! But my heart is heavy with grief. Weep for me, for I wither away. Deceit still prevails, and treachery is everywhere. Terror and traps and snares will be your lot, you people of the earth.
If you want true unity that works in agreement with Jesus' end time plans, you want to "make ready" for judgment, and giving the false goal of national revival that merely "pauses" the inevitable plan of God gives people tons of comfort to just wait until the nation experiences something.
"We are all in this together" is the wrong message. Collective destiny, drawing close to each other for Jesus, is actually not the Biblical plan of unity...that is unity that draws on man's strength and intellect. That is Babel, or Babylonian, unity that makes man's ability to agree the center.
Jesus is the center of Biblical unity. Agreeing with each other about Jesus requires watering down Jesus to get everyone on the same page. This is no good! We need to get more and more of Jesus so we can agree with Him more and more about each other. That is Biblical unity. More truth about Jesus, not hiding the uncomfortable truths! Individual abiding that draws many close to one Man...that is what creates Biblical unity.
"We are all in this together" is the wrong message. The right message is "MY response to Jesus could save my whole city". All those who respond this way will find themselves united to each other by an unbreakable bond of glory. Not the dull and weak bond of human intellect. My individual response to Jesus is way more loving...way more powerful... to save a city than the collective of people getting along about some idea less than the full Revelation of Jesus. That is clearly what the Bible says in many places. Here is one:
Genesis 18:32 Finally, Abraham said, “Lord, please don’t be angry with me if I speak one more time. Suppose only ten are found there?” And the lord replied, “Then I will not destroy it for the sake of the ten.”
A response...an individual response...is required:
Ezekiel 22:30-31 “I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one. So now I will pour out my fury on them, consuming them with the fire of my anger. I will heap on their heads the full penalty for all their sins. I, the Sovereign lord , have spoken!”
The fate of the nations...all of them...is clearly set.
Psalms 2:1-12 Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, “Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure: “Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion.” “I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ” Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, And rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.
The nations are clearly raging against God. Chief among them is OUR nation. The fate of the cities is a whole different matter. The hour we live in is very personal to Jesus, because it is the hour the Bride will emerge...each individual person of the Bride. He has longed for this day.
Jesus is drawing all men unto Himself by giving the nations the fruit of their fallen leadership! The brilliance of this plan to let trouble drive people to Him! The trouble must come, but there is protection in submitting to the Son, because that is the point of the trouble!
All across the earth individuals in cities will humble themselves and kiss the son. They will love Him wholeheartedly. They won't wait for national leaders to plan just the right conference. They will conference with the Lord themselves. Then they will find they are running with a company of people united by one bond to one Man. A pure and spotless Bride completely loyal to her groom, which has bonded her unbreakably to the others that want the same thing: for Jesus to come and have His inheritance, no matter what. They want to hasten the day, not keep it at bay.
II Peter 3:10-15 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you,
