Good
The question the earth is mostly asking right now is "who is the good guy? Who do I want to win? Which one of these leaders agrees with God?". The one who agrees with God is the one who says "our only hope is the return of Jesus." I don't hear anyone in the political or media sphere actually saying that. It is extremely rare even in the Church. The earth is struggling to find the good leaders...the ones who can fix all the problems, or even a few of them. They are looking in all the wrong places for the wrong person.
This is a massive indicator of the time we live in. It is very tempting to find the strongest horse and put your weight behind that man or woman you think has the best chance of prevailing with the same values you have. This is not the solution the Bible is describing. This calls for great clarity and understanding. Voting our values is great, but trusting in a human, man-based, solution in this hour is actually considered evil...which means it is absent God's leadership.
Isaiah 31:1-2 Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, And rely on horses, Who trust in chariots because they are many, And in horsemen because they are very strong, But who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, Nor seek the Lord ! Yet He also is wise and will bring disaster, And will not call back His words, But will arise against the house of evildoers, And against the help of those who work iniquity.
God is orchestrating the events of the earth to let people taste the bad fruit of human strength. That is what is literally happening. The answer is REPENTANCE. Good people are supposed to repent for the bad choices their culture is making. Daniel, probably the man most in agreement with God in Babylon, was the one who is recorded as repenting for the errors of Israel in Daniel 9.
Right now the Church is clamoring to find a human leader they can get behind. This is great error. Conservatives aren't going to offer us the right leader, liberals aren't going to offer the right leader. There is only one worthy to lead the earth into righteousness:
Revelation 5:1-7 And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.” And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.
God is allowing the earth to accelerate to this reality right now. George Bush wasn't the great hope of God's kingdom any more than the current president...neither are worthy to open the scroll.
Watching the little bit of Bobby Jindal's prayer rally, "The Response" yesterday I was saddened by what prayers were being lifted up. Mostly, they were teachings and declarations...mostly they were calls to God to stay His hand of judgment and give Christians more time to infiltrate the spheres of culture..."Louisiana will take the mountain of media"...this is NOT what Jesus described his disciples doing...ever.
What is it in the heart of man that has changed? What is it that would make us believe that if God stayed His hand we would somehow act differently than we have in the last 100 years?
God staying His hand of judgment is a sure recipe for us to go back to comfortable living that has broken our country for our children already. More of what we had? No thanks, not for me...I want Jesus to come home, and that is only going to happen one way: seven seals, seven trumpets, and seven bowls. I don't want to be whisked away from it, I want to help usher it in...even so, Lord, come!
Who do we want to win in 2016? God. Who do we want to win in Israel? God. Who do we want to save us? God.
God needs to come home. Every act of perverted violence against kids, or violence against the elderly, or workplace violence...every beheading...these events should be reinforcing that truth: Jesus, COME!
For THAT to happen we need to get ready to receive Him. His holiness is a bright consuming fire that no man can see and live. Holiness is required to meet him well...not necessarily the execution of holiness, but the DESIRE to be holy. A true desire for holiness that actually informs my words, my choices, and my true hope. What is MY true hope for the earth, for the USA, for my state, my city, my family, my own spiritual state? There is only ONE worthy, and you don't vote for Him in the ballot box, you vote for Him by emptying your hands of every other hope and dream.
Elections are fine, but a politician praying is not the answer to the calls for revival. The answer is earthquakes, and war, and rumors of war, and economic collapse...believe it or not, that is actually evidence that "all these things are happening." When all these things happen, don't "look around" for the right guy to lead you, look up!
Luke 21:28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”
I recently heard my favorite Bible teacher say one of the most disappointing things. He said "maybe we can keep the Lord's judgment from falling for another decade or two." If you believe that Jesus is the only one worthy, the cruelest thing you could do is hope to DELAY His appearing. No, I am going in the other direction...looking for and hastening the day of the Lord:. This is "hard to understand" but this is the truth that all of Jesus' friends taught:
II Peter 3:10-16 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.
I am not looking to climb any mountain but God's Holy Mountain. I am not interested in any relief short of the return of Jesus. I don't want 10 more years without Him back in the garden He spoke into creation for His own pleasure. Trouble comes with Jesus, even so, come Lord:
II Timothy 4:6-8 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
Don't stop coming Lord. Rather, make me ready to endure it. If not now, when? If not me, then who?
Revelation 22:20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
Right now my attitude about this is being observed and recorded. So is everyone elses:
Malachi 3:13-18 “Your words have been harsh against Me,” Says the Lord , “Yet you say, ‘What have we spoken against You?’ You have said, ‘It is useless to serve God; What profit is it that we have kept His ordinance, And that we have walked as mourners Before the Lord of hosts? So now we call the proud blessed, For those who do wickedness are raised up; They even tempt God and go free.’ ” Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, And the Lord listened and heard them; So a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the Lord And who meditate on His name. “They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them As a man spares his own son who serves him.” Then you shall again discern Between the righteous and the wicked, Between one who serves God And one who does not serve Him.
This is a massive indicator of the time we live in.
