Perfect Love
John 15:13“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.
In Jesus, perfect love came and revealed to mankind that we were desired, longed for, by God. Then for love, Perfect Love withdrew and gave us time to long for Him in return. The story will crescendo with a night and day cry for heaven to give our Beloved back, and heaven will speedily answer. When Jesus comes back, heaven will come with Him. The point is longing...the point is loving His appearing:
Song of Songs 5:6I opened for my beloved,
But my beloved had turned away and was gone.
My heart leaped up when he spoke.
I sought him, but I could not find him;
I called him, but he gave me no answer.
7The watchmen who went about the city found me.
They struck me, they wounded me;
The keepers of the walls
Took my veil away from me.
8I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem,
If you find my beloved,
That you tell him I am lovesick!
9The Daughters of Jerusalem
What is your beloved
More than another beloved,
O fairest among women?
What is your beloved
More than another beloved,
That you so charge us?
10The Shulamite
My beloved is white and ruddy,
Chief among ten thousand.
11His head is like the finest gold;
His locks are wavy,
And black as a raven.
12His eyes are like doves
By the rivers of waters,
Washed with milk,
And fitly set.
13His cheeks are like a bed of spices,
Banks of scented herbs.
His lips are lilies,
Dripping liquid myrrh.
14His hands are rods of gold
Set with beryl.
His body is carved ivory
Inlaid with sapphires.
15His legs are pillars of marble
Set on bases of fine gold.
His countenance is like Lebanon,
Excellent as the cedars.
16His mouth is most sweet,
Yes, he is altogether lovely.
This is my beloved,
And this is my friend,
O daughters of Jerusalem!
Lovesickness is what will release the harvest, which begins with the heart level question: "who is the one who has wrecked you for everything else and how do I find Him, too?"
Song of Songs 6:1The Daughters of Jerusalem
Where has your beloved gone,
O fairest among women?
Where has your beloved turned aside,
That we may seek him with you?
2The Shulamite
My beloved has gone to his garden,
To the beds of spices,
To feed his flock in the gardens,
And to gather lilies.
3I am my beloved’s,
And my beloved is mine.
He feeds his flock among the lilies.
If we could truly see what could be ours, what has been purchased for us...what rightly belongs to us... we would not stop asking for it, and the Father would give Him to us:
Luke 18:1Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,
2saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man.
3“Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’
4“And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man,
5‘yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ ”
6Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said.
7“And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?
8“I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”
2 Timothy 4:6For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
8Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
It is all about longing...seeking the kingdom first and letting the rest be added. Putting the first commandment first. The second will only follow the first... And it will certainly follow:
Revelation 2:1“To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, ‘These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands:
2“I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars;
3“and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary.
4“Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.
5“Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.
Matthew 6:33“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
