Types of Prayer
Did you know there are different kinds of prayer?
Ephesians 6:18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints--
The Tabernacle of David is a very SPECIFIC KIND of prayer. It is ordered based on God's government. The WAY David's Tabernacle was executed is very important. Over the next few months at Midnight Cry and on Sundays, I am going to be talking about why we are trying to agree with Jesus about the rebuilding of David's Tabernacle. The Bible promises over and over that the Tabernacle would be rebuilt prior to Jesus' return. Satan is warring against it:
Revelation 13:5-7 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.
Satan wars against this very specific kind of prayer for a reason: it is what Jesus will return to. Organizing Jesus' government on earth is what it means to build His throne. When His throne is built, He will return.
The Tabernacle of David requires some very specific things:
1. It is done in a central community location - this is important because it is designed to force us to learn to live with each other. The agitation makes the Bride clean...like a clothes washer.
2. It is ordered. God's entire government is under a very specific authority structure that releases authority to those who have vision, or revelation. That means they take time to order their own lives, going after consecration, so they get revelation, and God releases more through them. If you want to have a place in the tabernacle, you have to learn to operate prophetically, and this is entirely related to consecrating yourself, which is ultimately what produces right order...what I mean is, when we see authority and commit to honor it, revelation begins to flow with great power...think Acts 2, or what was happening in Israel as the Psalms were being written. There is a reason David took his prayer to the "chief musician" rather than just jumping on the harp and belting it out when he felt to! David ordered the singers and musicians operate prophetically, which leads to requirement 3:
3. David's Tabernacle is prophetic, because it is about heaven increasingly manifesting on earth. That means stuff from heaven starts happening on earth by us declaring it. There are lots of different prayer modes, but David's Tabernacle is PROPHETIC prayer. This takes time to learn and then a lifetime and more to grow into. That is kind of the point...the riskiness of learning to pray and sing and play prophetically causes us to talk to God and hear God MORE. This is one of the main reasons it precedes Jesus' return.
4. David's Tabernacle is antiphonal...that means at least two opposing voices....the Seraphim and elders. Again, this is how God's government works. It is based in voluntary worship, or looking and desiring, God, and then agreeing verbally with what we see (revelation, again) so others can see. For this reason, David's Tabernacle can only be done in a central location with multiple people all trying to prophecy and stay in order. This all requires a serious commitment to the sermon on the mount, which gets us ready to live with Jesus and each other forever. David's Tabernacle will cause conflict in vision, intentionally. Many will quit because of offense. Stay with it, you are getting more pure and spotless if you don't quit.
5. David's Tabernacle is centered on Israel. Too many concepts here to summarize. Search it out. You will find it is the main way Jews and Gentiles will become one in desiring God to come back to earth. It is a House of Prayer for all nations, but centered on the God of Israel.
6. David's Tabernacle is MUSICAL. This is a must. It is the only way God's Government operates...to music. From the moment God began creating, His government began singing:
Job 38:3-7 Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me. "Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? To what were its foundations fastened? Or who laid its cornerstone, When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
7. David's Tabernacle is the main way the Spirit of Elijah will join the hearts of fathers to children and children to fathers. It is a family and/or multi-generational activity. You will find this in 1st Chronicles 25 most clearly, but there are several other places you can see this.
