True Five Fold
True five fold
Ephesian 4:11And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
The true fivefold is simply a reflection of maturity in agreeing with God's vision for restoration of His family.
We are all made to be in direct fellowship with God, which means we are all made for revelation. Revelation produces authority. The more I see of God's kingdom, the more I know how to operate in the kingdom, and the more I can serve in the kingdom. The greatest serve the most.
The ultimate expression of redemption...the story the Bible is telling is this: all of God's children walking in the confidence and relationship of Jesus, the first of many brothers.
The False fivefold prevents this from happening by setting up a false priesthood that limits vision of the "bottom level", so "people" would see themselves as servants to the "leaders" in the areas of time and money. The false fivefold leads the church to celebrate the vision at the top. The anointed prophet and the visitation of the "apostle" open the way for the group to move forward. This is a false priesthood.
The Bible teaches the priesthood of all believers. That means it teaches that anyone can come as close to God as he or she is willing to come. The true fivefold facilitates that...serves into at the cost of themselves...just like Jesus did.
Teacher = A true fivefold teacher knows the preisthood of all believers and can readily express it.
Pastor= A pastor knows the priesthood of all belivers and shepherds others who are beginning to see it in a way to prepare them to know it like they do.
Evangelist = The evangelist sees that not just "believers" can know God, but literally sees an entire world full of people who can know God if simply invited.
Prophet = The prophet has gone beyond relying on what is logical and understandable about the kingdom and what is practically doable in the areas of shepherding and evangelism and is running on direct revelation even at the cost of his reputation...the prophet doesn't just know the preisthood of all believers, he or she has stepped into it. Communing with God... Fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit in a way that produces unique revelation. According to the Bible, a true prophetic gift will always cost us a reputation in the world and in the religious establishment. The religious always build tombs to honor the dead prophets, yet want to kill the contemporary prophets.
Apostle = The apostle has extended this prophetic revelation from simply seeing and relating what God wants done to actually shepherding and evangelizing in the direct revelation of the holy spirit at the cost of His own importance and greatness. He is literally pouring himself out like a drink offering that as many as possible would come into the fullness of their calling, which he sees as his calling. His success is that they would do the very thing he is doing, and that they would be more honored in it than him. He or she believes that the greatest measure of maturity and greatness in Jesus' kingdom is to drink his cup and get his baptism...to spend himself that others would do "greater things than" he does.
1 Thessalonians 2:19For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming? 20For you are our glory and joy.
We need eyes to see the true fivefold. We need humility to operate in the true fivefold. Getting to the top of the true fivefold will cost you everything now, but will be a crown of glory in the age to come.
