Connection
It is important to be connected to what God feels and what God says the time is.
Right now, when I seek the Lord, I sense a great urgency to what He is feeling. It is deep. It's full of self control. There is joy. But, the intensity of what is coming onto the Earth is massive. Like a hammer coming to break things apart. This is of the Lord.
Judgment comes from the Lord, first to the church, then later to the world. The church is coming into sifting, or judgment, right now. I love the church and consider myself a part of it. I don't say this because of bitterness, but rather the great softness I feel toward the church.
God has emotions, just as we do. We are made in His image. I wouldn't want someone assuming I feel a certain way all the time. I would want to be known. At any given time you probably feel more than one emotion.
So does the Lord.
It is important to ask Him what He is feeling and then wait for an answer.
These are the two passages he has given me to describe His feelings this am:
Isiah 42:13The LORD shall go forth like a mighty man;
He shall stir up His zeal like a man of war.
He shall cry out, yes, shout aloud;
He shall prevail against His enemies.
14“I have held My peace a long time,
I have been still and restrained Myself.
Now I will cry like a woman in labor,
I will pant and gasp at once.
15I will lay waste the mountains and hills,
And dry up all their vegetation;
I will make the rivers coastlands,
And I will dry up the pools.
16I will bring the blind by a way they did not know;
I will lead them in paths they have not known.
I will make darkness light before them,
And crooked places straight.
These things I will do for them,
And not forsake them.
17They shall be turned back,
They shall be greatly ashamed,
Who trust in carved images,
Who say to the molded images,
‘You are our gods.’
Hosea 5:6 “With their flocks and herds
They shall go to seek the LORD,
But they will not find Him;
He has withdrawn Himself from them.
7They have dealt treacherously with the LORD,
For they have begotten pagan children.
Now a New Moon shall devour them and their heritage.
8“Blow the ram’s horn in Gibeah,
The trumpet in Ramah!
Cry aloud at Beth Aven,
‘Look behind you, O Benjamin!’
9Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke;
Among the tribes of Israel I make known what is sure.
10“The princes of Judah are like those who remove a landmark;
I will pour out My wrath on them like water.
11Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment,
Because he willingly walked by human precept.
12Therefore I will be to Ephraim like a moth,
And to the house of Judah like rottenness.
13“When Ephraim saw his sickness,
And Judah saw his wound,
Then Ephraim went to Assyria
And sent to King Jareb;
Yet he cannot cure you,
Nor heal you of your wound.
14For I will be like a lion to Ephraim,
And like a young lion to the house of Judah.
I, even I, will tear them and go away;
I will take them away, and no one shall rescue.
15I will return again to My place
Till they acknowledge their offense.
Then they will seek My face;
In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me.”
What does the Lord actually say when you talk to Him? It is one thing to know precepts, and quite another to know the living breathing Lord of all the Earth.
Yes, God is love. Yes, God is kind. But God is also angry, just, and able to rightly release wrath.
I want to know what He is doing. I want to agree with what He is doing. The Bible is FULL of examples of people ascribing the wrong emotion to God at exactly the wrong time, and it is never His impending judgment that gets warned about in error...it is always His peace.
Ezekiel 13:15“Thus will I accomplish My wrath on the wall and on those who have plastered it with untempered mortar; and I will say to you, ‘The wall is no more, nor those who plastered it,
16‘that is, the prophets of Israel who prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and who see visions of peace for her when there is no peace,’ ” says the Lord GOD.
Jeremiah 23:18For who has stood in the counsel of the LORD,
And has perceived and heard His word?
Who has marked His word and heard it?
19Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD has gone forth in fury—
A violent whirlwind!
It will fall violently on the head of the wicked.
20The anger of the LORD will not turn back
Until He has executed and performed the thoughts of His heart.
In the latter days you will understand it perfectly.
21“I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran.
I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
22But if they had stood in My counsel,
And had caused My people to hear My words,
Then they would have turned them from their evil way
And from the evil of their doings.
23“Am I a God near at hand,” says the LORD,
“And not a God afar off?
(Just to be clear:. The world doesn't care about prophets. It's believers that he is addressing. The 'wicked' he is warning are people that listen to prophets of Jehovah)
Matthew 26:33Peter answered and said to Him, “Even if all are made to stumble because of You, I will never be made to stumble.”
34Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you that this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”
