House of Prayer Embraces Weakness
Isaiah 56:7 NKJV — Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices Will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
The 'house of prayer' or the place of night and day prayer to music, isn't about the music, it's about the prayer.
The point of a 'house of prayer for all nations' is that all nations would get saved, not entertained.
If the place of prayer isn't mostly a place of repentance, then it misses the mark...it's not the one the Bible upholds.
When Jesus is coming, there is a very specific command:
Matthew 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8“Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, 9“and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. 10“And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 11“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 12“His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” 13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him.
Jesus agrees with this action plan for his coming. Repentance is the point of Isaiah's 'house of prayer' in context.
Right now, two worship movements are rising up in the church. They will both go 24/7 when it's all said and done. One will take people day and night into readiness to meet Jesus, the other will entertain large portions of the church but produce no heart change...they will simply feel excited about the momentum, not the death to self and the absolute authority of Jesus to rule the earth, beginning with absolute authority over the individual. It's personal to God. In places missing His heart, music and entertainment will outweigh participation and repentance at the heart level:
Ezekiel 33:29“Then they shall know that I am the LORD, when I have made the land most desolate because of all their abominations which they have committed.” ’
30“As for you, son of man, the children of your people are talking about you beside the walls and in the doors of the houses; and they speak to one another, everyone saying to his brother, ‘Please come and hear what the word is that comes from the LORD.’ 31“So they come to you as people do, they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words, but they do not do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their hearts pursue their own gain. 32“Indeed you are to them as a very lovely song of one who has a pleasant voice and can play well on an instrument; for they hear your words, but they do not do them. 33“And when this comes to pass—surely it will come—then they will know that a prophet has been among them.”
The true night and day worship that will save people will look more like John the Baptist and less like Hollywood.
Misguided worship and prayer movements steal the precious moments of heart change and misdirect the church into apostasy...they look more like Hollywood and less like John the Baptist. Matthew 7 tells us the intentions are good, but the fruit is bad.
I need to decide right now what the point is of what I do, where I go, and what I invest myself in, because the world is being led into a valley of decision. This is the decision: do I embrace the strength of man, or the weakness? God is strong in our weakness...
Satan cannot create, he can only counterfeit. As we get nearer and nearer to Jesus' return, and the fulfillment of prophecy, Satan has less room to counterfeit and still be believable. He will counterfeit the house of prayer. It is the biggest threat to his stolen kingdom. He wants Jesus' worship:
Luke 4:5 Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. 7“Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.” 8 And Jesus answered and said to him, “Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”
Confusion over whether we should embrace strength or weakness is permeating every part of the church culture. We need to repent of choosing man over God, performance over repentance, and Mammon over Holiness. That is the point of this hour: to come out of Babylon. In love, we need to draw a clear distinction between the holy and profane...not for everyone else, for ourselves.
1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”
34 Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.
