Living Vibrant in God

If I look for ways to get a break from the pursuit of God, checking with Him to make sure it's ok , I'm going the wrong way. I will eventually draw back if my life is pointed in this direction.

He will always say 'yes' to that question, btw, because it's what a person asking that question truly wants. God won't 'make' anyone pursue Him because that would violate love.

This question..."is it ok with you God if I do this thing that isn't pursuing you?" ... is like asking God "how far can I go away from you and still be all yours?"

This is a self-focused question, and not one good for a marriage.

If I go the other way, I am pointed to a satisfied eternity.

Asking God how close I can come to Him, how much more I can give Him and how much more of myself I can die to is the way to satisfaction.

This is the direction to life, because God is the source of life. I get less burned out going harder after God!!

The flesh wars against this wisdom. If I listen to what my flesh wants, even though I feel like I am giving myself rest, what I really get is more frustrated and burned out ... Duller...less satisfied...over time.

Whether I admit it or not, trying to carve out rest time from God gives me less rest! He is the author of life...He designed rest into life....if I give myself to pursuing Him I'll get way more rest than if I approach Him double- minded.

It doesn't make sense to the flesh....but this math works every time.

You don't burn out from living fully into the pursuit of God...man was made to live this way. You burn out from trying to live two lives...one for yourself and one for God.

The most unsatisfied people I have ever met have been people that live lukewarm for Jesus.

Better cold or hot...really!

Revelation 3:15“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16“So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

I am setting my heart again to search and pray for how to give God more of my life...not because I am a glutton for punishment, but hungry for pleasure and satisfaction.

This way of life works, but you have to be in it to really see it.
