Biblical, Practical, Applicable Faith
The simple, practical, and Biblical application of faith is learning to see, and then choosing to believe, what God thinks, what God feels, and the choices God makes are the right standards for your life.
You can have faith in anything you want... The rabbits foot, your ability, the horoscope...
Faith in God is the faith the Bible preaches.
**Faith in God is not belief in what you think should happen**
For example, if you get sick, faith in God isn't thinking God will make you well. That is faith in what you think.
Faith in God means you simply ask Him what He thinks, what He feels, and what He intends to do with your sick condition and then allow His thoughts, His emotions, and His will to replace yours. He might want to make you well. He might not. Either way, He wants to do what is good for you. You finding out His will is the best thing that can happen to you.
Faith is a fruit of the Spirit. That means it is the product of a partnership: you and God.
This ^ is the only faith God rewards.
If you are sick, in need of resources, in pain over a relationship, unsure of direction for your next steps, or waiting on a promise from God, it is very tempting to think you know the only way forward. You don't. That is the problem Jesus came to fix. You simply don't know good from evil to the Biblical standard.
Adam and Eve's eyes were opened, yes, but their hearts were closed to the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation. Arrogant man thinks because he sees and is allowed an opinion, that his sight and opinions are correct. They are not.
If man could know and act on good and evil alone, there would be no need for a Messiah. Man cannot, so Jesus came to show us how to connect to God in faith:
Romans 7:18-25 NKJV — For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
Biblical, practical, applicable faith is recognizing what I think, what I feel, and what I think God should do may, or may not, be right (good) so I humble myself and ask God what He thinks. When He communicates an impression of His feelings to me, I let that become my opinion, too. I humble myself and ask Him what He feels. I then adopt His emotion by repenting of my own. I ask Him what He wants to do right now... Not tomorrow, or two years from now... Right now... "God, what do you want to accomplish in me right now?" and I yield to His will.
*This is the faith that changed Abram to Abraham.
*This is the faith that built Noah's ark over many years.
*This is the faith that told David to wait to be king for almost 20 years.
**This is the faith that led Jesus to the cross.**
This is the only faith the Bible validates.
Hebrews 11:6-10 NKJV — But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith. By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
Don't believe those who preach any other gospel.
The "lawlessness" the Bible is describing is trying to do good things without this faith. The world is, and always will be lawless. The Bible doesn't waste any ink pointing this out.
The lawlessness the Bible describes is the lawlessness of God's people, not the world.
There is NO war of good against evil at the end of the age, just as there never has been... The only war is for your leadership... to act lawlessly, or in faith.
The world can ONLY be lawless... It has no Spirit. Only those with the Spirit of God can choose faith in God. Only they can hear Him.
Everyone thinks what they do is the "right thing to do"... Only those with faith in God's unique and mysterious way of leading are lawful and good. He is the only good one.
If God is leading you, then fear of what man is doing disappears.
If God is leading you, you can afford to be kind, patient, merciful, and loving.
If YOU are leading you in God's name, you are a false witness. If you are leading you, you will be mocking, sarcastic, angry, afraid, arrogant, rebellious.
Both types of people will try to do the works of God.
Matthew 7:12-29 NKJV — “Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. “Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. “You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? “Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. “A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. “Therefore by their fruits you will know them. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: “and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: “and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
