The Heart of David In Judgment

David had a unique love for God. He is truly the man after God's heart.

When God judged David for his sin with Bathsheba, it was by his son, Absalom's, treachery.

Absalom won Jerusalem away from his father David, and suddenly David was on the run. David knew God was judging him. David didn't ascribe the trouble to Absalom.

This had massive consequences in the way David saw what was happening. David saw clearly what God was doing and he passed God's test of fidelity.

You see, David saw it was God that made the ark of the covenant holy, and that God wanted Jerusalem to be the place His power dwelt forever. David didn't use God to get an advantage against Absalom... He would never use God. That is what made Him a man after God's heart.

David put God's desire above his own and this put David in the safest place possible:

2 Samuel 15:23-26 NKJV — And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people crossed over. The king himself also crossed over the Brook Kidron, and all the people crossed over toward the way of the wilderness. There was Zadok also, and all the Levites with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God. And they set down the ark of God, and Abiathar went up until all the people had finished crossing over from the city. Then the king said to Zadok, “Carry the ark of God back into the city. If I find favor in the eyes of the LORD, He will bring me back and show me both it and His dwelling place. “But if He says thus: ‘I have no delight in you,’ here I am, let Him do to me as seems good to Him.”

David didn't see God's presence or power as something to be moved where David wanted, used for David's purpose, or to be directed by David's need.

No

David saw himself as a person to be moved where God wanted, a person to be used for God's purpose, and to be directed by God's desire.

Contrast this with the judgment of Israel in Samuel's day:

1 Samuel 4:1-5 NKJV — And the word of Samuel came to all Israel. Now Israel went out to battle against the Philistines, and encamped beside Ebenezer; and the Philistines encamped in Aphek. Then the Philistines put themselves in battle array against Israel. And when they joined battle, Israel was defeated by the Philistines, who killed about four thousand men of the army in the field. And when the people had come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, “Why has the LORD defeated us today before the Philistines? Let us bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD from Shiloh to us, that when it comes among us it may save us from the hand of our enemies.” So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from there the ark of the covenant of the LORD of hosts, who dwells between the cherubim. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God. And when the ark of the covenant of the LORD came into the camp, all Israel shouted so loudly that the earth shook.

Do you see? Israel knew God had defeated them, and their arrogant response.. to use the ark of the covenant to resist God's judgment, resulted in their utter defeat and their loss of the ark, which represented God's presence in Israel.

Embracing judgment... Not fighting your way out of it... Is the only humble response if you are a person after God's heart and not your own. Arrogant flesh uses anything... fight or flight... To try to save itself... even the God judging him!!! The church that uses God as a means to win the world is in delusion.

The entire world is dying because of selfishness.

Fear of loss, fear of man, fear of desolation, fear of shame, fear of defeat... These are all things God is judging in the Body of Yeshua right now. These are also realities God is judging in Israel right now. If you want to be safe, don't try to use "God" to fight the very thing God is using to judge you!!!!

No

Humble yourself. Give yourself to being searched and tested by God. Be willing to endure His mighty hand upon you that He can shape you, test you, and find your heart for Him... Not yourself.

Man didn't make man. Man has never saved man. Man cannot provide his own clothing, shelter, food, breath, heartbeat, or understanding.

Man was made to be dust without God. Until we get back to that reality, we are failing the test of the end time judgment and prolonging the agony of the earth.

Find out where God wants you, let Him search you and find you out. Let God find you selfless before Him, even at the cost of your own life, and He will restore you to an even greater place than He found you.

Philippians 2:3-11 NKJV — Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Jesus has the heart of David, and David was after Jesus' heart. This is how heaven and earth become one.

Luke 20:41-47 NKJV — And He said to them, “How can they say that the Christ is the Son of David? “Now David himself said in the Book of Psalms:

‘The LORD said to my Lord,
“Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” ’ “Therefore David calls Him ‘Lord’; how is He then his Son?” Then, in the hearing of all the people, He said to His disciples, “Beware of the scribes, who desire to go around in long robes, love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts, “who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.”

Using God for gain is a hypocrisy God will not abide, whether it be personal, national, for the move of God, or the establishing of His kingdom.

Let God use you, even in defeat. He uses all things for the good of those who love Him and are called to HIS purpose.
