The Character Of The Leader We Should Want
God gives everyone what they want. When we get leadership that is evil, it's because that is what we wanted:
Leviticus 26:13-18 NKJV — I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves;
I have broken the bands of your yoke and made you walk upright. ‘But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments, and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant, I also will do this to you:
I will even appoint terror over you, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart.
And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies.
Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you. ‘And after all this, if you do not obey Me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.
God has always used government (kings, governors, wicked priests, false prophets) to judge, or discipline, His people into wanting what was right. God never changes. There is no shadow of turning in Him.
The flesh fights God's judgments, and gets more judgment. God corrects and disciplines sons and daughters. Right now, He is correcting the church by putting her under increasingly hostile governmental leadership. If she tries to find "church-friendly" leaders, the judgment will increase. Look around. This IS what is happening.
If the church, we, would humble ourselves and stop fighting for better human leaders... if we would be willing to see where we are insolent and repent, God would resolve the situation for us.
If we would cry out for justice, rather than attempt to orchestrate it, God would patiently rework our understanding and come quickly. If we would stop believing we are better than the culture God is trying to save, He would justify us and use us as WITNESSES to the culture we feel is hostile towards the Church:
Luke 18:7-14 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?" Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.' And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!' I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
He is a good Father.
*We are impatient, so we get impatient leadership.
*We are fearful, so we get fearful and irrational leadership.
*We are arrogant, so we get arrogant leaders.
*We are FORCEFUL, so we get forceful leaders.
*We raise our voice and lose our temper and fight in the flesh, so we are getting a war...
This is the character of the leader we should want:
Isaiah 42:1-9 NKJV — “Behold! My Servant whom I uphold,
My Elect One in whom My soul delights!
I have put My Spirit upon Him;
He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. He will not cry out, nor raise His voice,
Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed He will not break,
And smoking flax He will not quench;
He will bring forth justice for truth. He will not fail nor be discouraged,
Till He has established justice in the earth;
And the coastlands shall wait for His law.” Thus says God the LORD,
Who created the heavens and stretched them out,
Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it,
Who gives breath to the people on it,
And spirit to those who walk on it: “I, the LORD, have called You in righteousness,
And will hold Your hand;
I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people,
As a light to the Gentiles, To open blind eyes,
To bring out prisoners from the prison,
Those who sit in darkness from the prison house. I am the LORD, that is My name;
And My glory I will not give to another,
Nor My praise to carved images. Behold, the former things have come to pass,
And new things I declare;
Before they spring forth I tell you of them.”
Thisis the character of Yeshua, the prophesied forever leader of the universe. If we want this ^ leader, we must embrace these character traits for ourselves. We get the leader we want... The one we prepare to be led by!
Right now, we should be preparing for Yeshua (Jesus) to come and lead us. Shouting down those we disagree with, being fearful of the government and what it is doing, overestimating the ability of the devil and underestimating the ability of God... These are all leading us to antichrist leadership, and thus, Antichrist worship:
Revelation 13:4-10 NKJV — So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If anyone has an ear, let him hear. He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
Do you see? God gives those who feel defeated and desperate defeat and desperation.
We cannot revile for reviling and not get more reviling. BUT, if we will sit beside the Lord and learn to love our enemies, see the real enemy for who he really is, become unafraid and faithful... Learn how to flow in the Spirit not lockdown the flesh... If we trust in the righteousness of God and not the ability of man to save Himself... We will get the Son of Man to come and lead us forever.
Most will be cast out of the presence of the Lamb when He comes because they don't like the character of the Lamb for winning battles against the flesh. Yes, they thought they were THE church, but He thinks otherwise:
Matthew 7:19-23 NKJV — “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. “Therefore by their fruits you will know them. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
Lawlessness means doing things leaderlessly. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Lamb. The law of our kingdom is a Lamby. If we would be lamby, God would vindicate us, like He did Jesus! If we refuse to be vulnerable and faithful, God will leave us to fight on our own while giving us more and more of the lawlessness we want. That will be real bad.
The Sermon on the Mount is where we find how to bear fruit. Not one part of the Sermon on Mount leads us to "fight fire with fire." All of it leads us to come out of the world... In it, but not of it. To not fight carnally, but to fight with love, joy, peace, patience, faithfulness, gentleness, kindness, goodness, and self control.
Not shouting, praying. Not fixing, repenting. Not putting the weight on our flesh to take things into our hands, but crying out to the Lord to take matters OUT of our hands! We ahve made this mess by our lukewarm response to trusting God to be our savior and instead trying to save our own way of life.
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. These are the ways saints fight:
Psalm 37:1-11 NKJV — A Psalm of David.
Do not fret because of evildoers,
Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
And wither as the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the LORD,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
Do not fret—it only causes harm. For evildoers shall be cut off;
But those who wait on the LORD,
They shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more;
Indeed, you will look carefully for his place,
But it shall be no more. But the meek shall inherit the earth,
And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
Psalm 27:1-9 NKJV — A Psalm of David.
The LORD is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked came against me
To eat up my flesh,
My enemies and foes,
They stumbled and fell. Though an army may encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear;
Though war may rise against me,
In this I will be confident. One thing I have desired of the LORD,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD,
And to inquire in His temple. For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavilion;
In the secret place of His tabernacle
He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock. And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me;
Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD. Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice!
Have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When You said, “Seek My face,”
My heart said to You, “Your face, LORD, I will seek.” Do not hide Your face from me;
Do not turn Your servant away in anger;
You have been my help;
Do not leave me nor forsake me,
O God of my salvation.
Saints fight like David, the giant slaying hero. Saints fight in a Spirit opposite of the Spirit of this age. Rather than fight to change the world, they rest... Even in the presence of enemies... And let God change them. Then, at just the right moment, God defeats their enemies and gets the glory for being the Savior!
This is promised to be what changes the whole world: wanting the character of Jesus to be our king, and not the flesh.
God gives everyone what they want. What will remain in the end are only those who really wanted God... Not in pretense, but to be like Him... To embrace His character, not to simply covet His strength.
Selah.
