Pouring Out

There is a great increase in the activity of God among His people sure to come. Many of the prophets declared it would come thousands of years ago. Each one tied it to the "day of the Lord," the season of preparation for the return of Jesus.


This is the promise many in Jesus' body are contending for. Some don't know it is promised, and some don't know when it will come in full. It has been available for 2,000 years, but will come in full in the future on a very specific day. This is the Joel 2:28-32 outpouring of the Holy Spirit on "all flesh."


Joel 2:28-32 “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord . And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls.


Everyone who has said "yes" to Jesus is going to walk in a great measure of supernatural authority. Prophecy is going to increase to a level we would have a hard time imagining. Everyone is going to dream prophetic dreams like Joseph did, we will see visions giving us direction and encouragement through trouble, we will prophetically know how and when to multiply food like Jesus feeding the multitudes, raising the dead, unlocking hearts for Jesus. The pouring out of the Spirit on all flesh will release in full the "greater things than these" that Jesus promised His followers they would experience:


John 14:12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.


This has been available in "some measure" ever since Acts 2. When Jesus left His brand new Church in Jerusalem and said "wait in the city until power comes upon you," they did! All 120 of them stayed together, praying in one accord and waiting for what Jesus told them would happen. 7 weeks later, after uniting in continual prayer in the upper room, the Holy Spirit touched the entire Body of Christ, it caused such a scene the disciples had to explain themselves to the city. Peter told the city "this is Joel 2:28-32 happening right now!" 3,000 people saw what happened, listened to Peter's explanation, and got saved. That day, by demonstrating His power through His people, Jesus increased the size of the Church almost 3,000 percent!!! This was a down payment on the full realization of Joel 2. Not bad for a taste of what is to come! But this was not the fullness. The fullness was promised to happen on a specific day in the future: When the moon turns red and the sun goes dark. This WILL happen. I believe it will happen much sooner than we think. Many prophets talked about this, including the greatest prophet ever: Jesus!


Ezekiel 32:7 When I put out your light, I will cover the heavens, and make its stars dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, And the moon shall not give her light.


Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord .


Matthew 24:29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.


We know the day this will happen. We don't know the specific day, but we know when, in the unfolding of Jesus plan, this occurs: the opening of the 6th seal. This is the only day in the Bible the Bride is promised to see the moon turn blood red:


Revelation 6:12 I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood.


The pattern in Revelation is exactly the pattern laid out in Joel, and in Acts: praying in one accord (this is the night and day rebuilding of David's tabernacle. The agreement on earth with what happens around God's throne), the release of the Holy Spirit, and the resulting great harvest of souls. In Revelation 6:9-7:14 you can read about Jesus plan to fulfill His Joel 2 promise: the antichrist tries to persecute the Church through an increase in martyrdom, his plan backfires (of course, right!?) and the Bride responds to the persecution by increasing night and day prayer in one accord. Then, God answers in the 6th seal with a pouring out of His Spirit!! All of the sudden the people aligned with enemy are hiding in caves, and t Revelation 7 happens!! A great harvest of souls occurs because the world sees with their own eyes what Israel got a taste of back in Peter's day: invisible Jesus has got some mind-blowing stuff for His family to do!


Revelation 7:9, 13-14 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands,


Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?” And I said to him, “Sir, you know.” So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.


The fullness happens at the 6th seal, BUT we aren't supposed to wait for the 6th seal to start contending for the "some measure" that is available now. How much can we get now? Good question. I intend to find out. We find out by contending with our words and agreeing with our actions. We pray for the sick, cast out demons, preach forgiveness to the lost...every time we get a chance. We celebrate the small miracles as real miracles...we talk about them, we thank God for them, we don't let the enemy steal them by saying they are a "coincidence". We are faithful in the small measures and Jesus gives more!


The MINIMUM level of experience the Bride should be contending for is what we know has already been released: the book of Acts. Raising the dead, healing the sick, casting out all demons, increasing the Church in every direction, JOY in tribulation (yes, this is a manifestation of the Spirit)...this should be the starting point for us to contend for. I want to know what is greater than walking on water, commanding the wind to be quiet, and turning water to wine? I am going to find out...and I am not going to wait for the 6th seal to start! Greater things is a promise. I want to see Jesus proven true!


What we choose now really matters. The degree that we agree with Jesus in His promises, is the degree to which we will share in the glory of the fulfilling of those promises. Because of free will...because of love...prophecy directed towards God's family is an invitation, not a guarantee. Jesus makes the offer in a prophetic promise, but we still need to say yes. Our heart is ours to give, and just like Adam and Eve, we can give it to whomever, or whatever, we want. Not everyone will experience the same measure of glory in the end. You get what you want. How much do I want?! This is the question of this generation!

I Corinthians 15:40-42 There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption.
