Takeover

The Bible is clear that Jesus is coming back to take over every government of the earth. When He does, He is going to join His body, all of those alive in Christ on earth at the time of His coming, along with all those who have chosen Him in the past. He will empty out the new Jerusalem in heaven with a call to arms, and He will gather His Bride on earth with the same call to arms. We will hear, and heaven will hear, the trumpet blast marking this final and glorious battle to be waged by Jesus and His Bride renewed in brand new bodies that can never die. Who could write this stuff but God?!


Trumpets are very significant in the Bible. God has attached great meaning to the use of trumpets, because there is beauty and meaning in everything He does. God has knit the entirety of His word and creation into one amazing story full of wonder and meaning. Trumpets are a small part of this story, but understanding their importance sheds great light on Jesus' plans. This is the first mention of trumpets in the Bible:


Exodus 19:13 Not a hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot with an arrow; whether man or beast, he shall not live.’ When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come near the mountain.”


The trumpet was invented by God to call His people to gather in front of Himself:


Numbers 10:2-3 “Make two silver trumpets for yourself; you shall make them of hammered work; you shall use them for calling the congregation and for directing the movement of the camps. When they blow both of them, all the congregation shall gather before you at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.


There is only one "set" of trumpets listed in the New Testament. These are the seven trumpets of Revelation. The order of Jesus action plan is clearly laid out in the Book of Revelation. This book is really called the Revelation of Jesus Christ, and everything in the plan is designed to reveal Jesus. The plan is broken into three parts, defined by 7 seals, 7 trumpets, and 7 bowls. The seals are opened to reveal what is in the scroll, or the plan. The trumpets herald the coming of the plan, and the bowls are the final culmination of the plan. The Bible is clear that Jesus is returning at the last...the 7th...trumpet:


Matthew 24:31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.


I Corinthians 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.


Revelation 11:15 Then the seventh angel (trumpet) sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”


The gathering of God's people to Himself at the 7th trumpet is called the "rapture." The rapture is the gathering of the Church in the sky, not to "go away" to heaven, but to go into Jerusalem with Jesus as He takes over the earth. Going away to heaven would be silly, since Jesus is bringing heaven to earth! If I am alive on the day Jesus returns...and I believe most of us will be...then my first experience of heaven will be here on earth. Heaven is wherever God is. It is His presence that defines the location of heaven, and Jesus is bringing it here with Him. Jesus is joining the supernatural spiritual realm with the physical realm...just like He did the first time He came...only globally, permanently, and MUCH more dramatically! This is what God always intended. This is what God called very good in the Garden of Eden!


When Jesus rapture...or gathers...His Church, it will be in the sky. Why the sky!? This will be the only place on earth big enough for us to all be together as Jesus organizes us for this glorious procession into Jerusalem! By most estimates, there are roughly a billion saints in heaven and a billion on earth. By the time of the 7th trumpet, the Church will have brought in the great harvest...possibly another billion believers...where could three billion people all gather together for the great last battle to drive evil off the planet? In the sky, of course!


I Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.


There is a sea of glass where all the believer will meet with the Lord:


Revelation 15:2 And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God.


The sea of glass is the convocation place before the throne in heaven. Ezekiel saw the sea of glass descend to earth once before:


Ezekiel 1:22-23, 26-27 The likeness of the firmament above the heads of the living creatures was like the color of an awesome crystal, stretched out over their heads. And under the firmament their wings spread out straight, one toward another. Each one had two which covered one side, and each one had two which covered the other side of the body.


And above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a man high above it. Also from the appearance of His waist and upward I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around.


Ezekiel saw the pre-incarnate Jesus coming on His throne that sat on this crystal sea over the heads of the Seraphim. This same sea of glass is coming as a physical platform for the great call to arms where the Bride will meet Jesus in the air to get our new bodies capable relating to the supernatural-meets-physical arrival of heaven on earth. Not to go away with Jesus somewhere, but to go with Him into Jerusalem as He begins driving all evil off the planet and making all things new here on earth. If you believe the Bible is true, then this is REALLY going to happen!
