Blessing
Proverbs 14:4 Without oxen a stable stays clean, but you need a strong ox for a large harvest.
There are only two places in the New Testament where the Lord promises a blessing for keeping and teaching a message: the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5, 6, and 7) and the Revelation of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 5:19 So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Revelation 1:3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.
These two teachings are divinely intertwined. The Book of Revelation is the Revelation of Jesus Christ as the soon coming king over all the nations of the earth, and the Sermon on the Mount is a divine manual for agreeing with Jesus about becoming the king of my mind, will, and emotions in advance of the physical takeover.
These two teachings are two of the most controversial in the Bible, because they are two of the most powerful teachings. Revelation is rarely taught because it is full of impassioning information which easily causes division. The Sermon on the Mount, when studied, puts to death both the false grace message, and legalism...it is the road map to staying on the "narrow road." Wide is the road that leads to destruction, which makes doing and teaching the Sermon on the Mount sound like extreme Christianity!
The Proverb says: where the oxen are working there IS going to be a mess, but you really want the oxen to work. The same is true of these two essential teachings to understand. I don't want to let the fear of controversy, or the scary risks the Sermon on the Mount presses me to take (like giving my time, money, and forgiveness away secretly and freely) keep me from jumping into the life changing power these two teachings hold for me!
The Revelation of Jesus and the Sermon on the Mount when understood together, teach the Bride how to make herself ready for the soon arrival of the groom. The Sermon on the Mount helps dress the Bride for the wedding events described in the Book of Revelation!
Matthew 6:30-34 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
