The Word

Jesus is the Word. He is the Word who spoke all of creation into being in agreement with the Father, causing the Holy Spirit to respond in power. He is the Creator, from beginning to end:

John 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (2) He was in the beginning with God. (3) All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. (4) In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

But THAT wasn’t the end of His speaking! He gave the entire Bible to mankind. He is the author of every letter from A to Z, the beginning and the end…the Alpha and Omega of the word:

Revelation 1:11 saying, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last," and, "What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."

But even THAT isn’t the end of His words!! He continues to speak to men. He hasn’t left us alone:

John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.

John 16:13-15 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. (14) He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. (15) All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

EVERY Word God speaks is good. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit have never uttered anything less than a PERFECT word. Every word God speaks brings life, is a promise that cannot be broken, is never forgotten, and is fruitful:

2 Samuel 22:31 As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever."

Ezekiel 12:25 For I am the LORD. I speak, and the word which I speak will come to pass; it will no more be postponed; for in your days, O rebellious house, I will say the word and perform it," says the Lord GOD.' "

Luke 4:4 But Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE, BUT BY EVERY WORD OF GOD.' "

Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

I can’t remember something I said a year ago…words I wrote 5 years ago I would not be able to recite, but this Man Christ Jesus has never uttered anything less than a perfect word, He hasn’t forgotten one word He has ever uttered…

AND He is LONGING to speak words to His family. He is longing to create new sentences of promise and reassurance, protection and provision…perfect words and promises that will never be forgotten and never be rescinded, tailor made for me, if I will make the space in my life and in my mind to receive them.

Because God has chosen love, He has committed to free will. He refuses to start the conversation. BUT, If I will make a little space, reach a little with my words, turn off the stereo, turn off the TV, get alone with the Word…new promises…new provision…new insight and revelation…new measures of confidence in His love that will never fail…all these are mine for the asking!

Luke 11:9-10 "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. (10) For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
