Wave: Position Matters

There is a wave that is about to break over the world. We feel the swell...the water is rising. We see the movement. Before a wave breaks, it is hard to see the power that is stored up in it. But then, when it hits the break, it crashes over itself. The power is released from the wave in its actual breaking.


At the time the wave breaks, position REALLY matters. Whether you are surfing, playing in the waves, or floating, if you are in the right spot, you can ride that break all the way to shore...if you are in the wrong spot, that wave will break right on you...and maybe break YOU. Waves are great and terrible, and so is the Day of the Lord:


Joel 2:11 The Lord gives voice before His army, For His camp is very great; For strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; Who can endure it?


Who can endure? Joel goes on to answer that very question in detail...it is worth reading! The simplest way to say it: position is everything!


The wave that is about to break all over the globe...no one knows the day or hour...but I am saying years NOT decades...is a wave of great trouble AND great revival...it is the release of the seals on the scroll of Revelation 5...the earth right now is entering the valley of decision:


Joel 3:9-14 Proclaim this among the nations: “Prepare for war! Wake up the mighty men, Let all the men of war draw near, Let them come up. Beat your plowshares into swords And your pruning hooks into spears; Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’ ” Assemble and come, all you nations, And gather together all around. Cause Your mighty ones to go down there, O Lord . “Let the nations be wakened, and come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; For there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations. Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down; For the winepress is full, The vats overflow— For their wickedness is great.” Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.


This is the most dynamic little passage: war and harvest, mixed together into one event. To choose the side of the harvest, an outward focus and agreement on what JESUS is about, is to choose God's side in the war. To choose self-focus, to pursue our own lives, like it is business as usual, is to choose the wrong side. What we do with the valley of decision will decide which army we are in, and whether we break under the wave or ride it through the most intense time to EVER be alive on planet earth.


Now is the time for all-in commitment to position. Pick one and get your stance ready...your either surfing, or bracing yourself for the most powerful crash ever. The vast majority of the world is in the WRONG position. I don't say this lightly, but literally... the world is really in the wrong position: what the tv wants to feed you, what musicians and artists who aren't loyal to Jesus want to feed you, what politicians...all politicians as far as I can tell...want to feed you, what movies want to feed you, what your unrealistic expectations of life are based on centuries of living in the land of "comfort" and "security" want to feed you is ALL designed to pull you into the wrong position for the break of this wave.


This is the time for ALL-IN loyalty to the Lion of the Tribe of Judah...agreeing with Him about entertainment...agreeing with Him about time...agreeing with Him about money...about humility...about service...about selflessness...about trust...about security...about possessions...about true success...this is what positions us to ride the wave that He is the Author of. The wave is coming, and it is literally going to break soon...


To live in this time is an UNUSUAL privilege, but it requires an unusual response...a one-track, John the Baptist, change the lifestyle, burn every other bridge, through away every other dream mindset...it really does. Many will completely miss it:


Matthew 24:37-39 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.


But for those who risk it all on Jesus...who place all their weight on Him...the weight of their dreams, and satisfaction, those who make getting closer to Him the entertainment of their life...those who get addicted to His presence at the cost of everything else...choose the work of getting fascinated with Him rather than the easy and fading fascination with the entertainment the world offers...they will not be in the dark, under the crashing wave, but instead will ride the wave in the light:


I Thessalonians 5:2-6 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.


Position is everything, because life is a yoke. The yoke the world thinks is "freedom" and "liberty" is the yoke of selfishness. It is a yoke of slavery and the one driving it is driving it to destruction. The yoke of selfishness is easy on the flesh, but destroys the spirit of a person.


Jesus' yoke is the yoke of truth..true liberty, true freedom, true purpose and success...but it is a yoke. It is hard on the flesh, but brings everlasting life to the spirit. To wear a yoke half way will absolutely tear up your body. A yoke requires a person to be all the way in it, otherwise the burden is carried in the wrong places and destroys the shoulders of the one carrying it. Now is the time for all-in, unabashed, abandoned , 7-days-a-week loyalty to Jesus. Nothing is as important as what He is about to unfold over the next 8 to 10 years....you don't want to be in the middle of it and still miss it!
