Very Good
Jesus has something on His mind. Right now, on His throne, He is eager to accomplish His desire, which is His Father's desire...that which God has called "very good" since the 6th day of creation, when mankind was with Him as a family on earth with the supernatural spiritual realm fully engaged with the physical realm:
Genesis 1:31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
The first two Chapters of the Bible describe the object of God's desire, to be in an equally yoked wholehearted loving relationship with mankind. The last two chapters of Revelation describe the restoration of what God called "very good":
Revelation 21:2-5 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”
Between Genesis 2 and Revelation 21, the entire Bible is about HOW God is making everything new. His plan is Jesus. Jesus came to redeem...buy back...what was lost, so anyone who would agree with God about what is "very good" could enter back in to the garden. He did this as a man, because the earth has been given to mankind to administer God's government in agreement with God. Mankind has a central role in the renewing of the earth. We aren't bystanders, we are joint heirs, following the "Firstborn of many" into the inheritance of creation. It pleases the Father that we would enter into inheriting the kingdom with His Son, but there ARE some strings attached. To rule and reign with Jesus...to live where Jesus lives, in a smaller measure, we have to expect to live like Jesus lived. Jesus is the firstborn of all who would share in His life:
Jesus HAD to suffer (endure unpleasantly) many things:
Luke 9:22 saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.”
Luke 24:46 Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,
Paul, who would share in a unique revelation of Jesus' wisdom and authority was also appointed a measure of suffering:
Acts 9:16 For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name’s sake.”
In fact, all who would share in Jesus' life, will share in His life!:
Romans 8:16-17 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
This suffering is a mark of membership...it is actually God's plan to train up rulers and "reigners" with Jesus:
Romans 8:18-19, 22-23, 26-28 NKJV
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now... Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered...Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
These were the words of Paul, who was famous for His spiritual warring. In fact, demons claimed to know of Paul's fame for resisting hell's assaults:
Acts 19:15 And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”
So there are two dynamics at work: a necessary suffering and a necessary resisting of the very suffering God is using to bring us into glory! For lack of a better analogy, this is bootcamp for anyone willing to rule and reign with Jesus in glory when He returns to take over the entire planet and rule it in love. Bootcamp is the place where armies simulate, in a controlled environment, resistance, in order to strengthen the troops to endure a more intense environment. Our present sufferings, that we are called to resist, are designed, in the process of resisting, to bring us into qualification to rule and reign forever. It is our overcoming through the present "tribulation" that produces the testimony that will overcome the greater tribulation which will come. From strength to strength, building endurance in wholehearted love for the one who is sovereign over all, but sees a MUCH bigger picture and promises to work it all, in a dazzling display of calculation, for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
Can you imagine the depth of calculation required to know every slight, every pain, every hurt, every loss, take all of it into account, NEVER violate free will, and STILL work it out with a perfect record of "good" in the final accounting, when every eye will see what was really made new??!! Who is this Man Christ Jesus!! Even the wind and the waves obey Him, yet He woos the sons of men and never forces them to agree with Him!
Obey God, resist the enemy on every front in our own lives and the lives of our fellow saints, press in, overcome, build strength...God has not brought us here to fail, He has brought us here to win! Simple 5 word prayers of resistance really move heavens power to earth. Applying the Blood of Jesus with simple words ("I plead the blood of Jesus over...") in every area that needs covering, building a city of refuge with a sword in one hand and a trowel or a trumpet in the other. We WILL overcome, by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony...strength to strength...this is just the beginning of the most glorious move of God planet earth has ever seen!
James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
Psalms 84:5-7 Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Whose heart is set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, They make it a spring; The rain also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength; Each one appears before God in Zion.
Isaiah 28:29 All this wisdom comes from the Lord Almighty. The plans God makes are wise, and they always succeed!
