The tribulation temple and false peace - Part 6
The description of the Harlot Babylon is so stunningly fulfilled by the present state of the United States it is incredible that NO ONE preaches this stuff. If we aren't the end-time Babylon, then we at least match the description so well we should be repenting like we are. The biggest embassy in the globe is our embassy right near...you guessed it...Babylon. we actually conquered Babylon during operation desert storm. We symbolically and practically represent ancient Babylon in just about every imaginable way. This is how she is described:
Revelation 18:3, 7, 9-15, 17-18 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.”
In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’
“The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’ “And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men.
The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all. The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.’ Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like this great city?’
This is what I believe we are actively watching play out. We have conspired, as a country, with radical Islamists that hate us and Israel. Remember, I believe the 10 horns are represented by 10 countries with kings, current or future, who desire to revive the Ottoman Empire/Islamic Caliphate...this is the Muslim Brotherhood. We are promoting brotherhood members like Mohammed Morsi in Egypt to power even though he has openly claimed that Israel is made up of "apes and pigs" and that we are the even "greater satan." This is what the Bible says comes of this strange alliance between us and those that hate us and Israel:
Revelation 17:16-18 And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth.”
The Torah, Israel's sacred Word, says it like this:
Isaiah 47:13-15 You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels; Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, And the monthly prognosticators (we are the land of pundits and prognosticators) Stand up and save you From what shall come upon you. Behold, they shall be as stubble, The fire shall burn them; They shall not deliver themselves From the power of the flame; It shall not be a coal to be warmed by, Nor a fire to sit before (this is a BIG fire)! Thus shall they be to you With whom you have labored, Your merchants from your youth; They shall wander each one to his quarter. No one shall save you.
And so here we are, sitting at the peace table with Israel, all the while working counter to her and to our own people. This "makes sense" somehow from a convoluted earthly standpoint, yet clearly defies the God of our forefathers. We are walking out in stunning agreement fulfillment of the prophecies regarding the Harlot Babylon in both the Old and New Testament, and yet Israel is choosing to go along with us! Why??!!
It is because she has simply forgotten her history. Time and time again God has called her to put her trust in Him. David, the man after God's own heart, made a 24-hour prayer-to-music movement his military plan, and became the greatest leader of Israel ever!
I Chronicles 25:1 Moreover David and the captains of the army separated for the service some of the sons of Asaph, of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, stringed instruments, and cymbals...
David learned a little of God's ways and decided to wholeheartedly agree with them...risking it all on sing and praying...and was rewarded handsomely!
This is what David did:
I Chronicles 22:14 Indeed I have taken much trouble to prepare for the house of the Lord one hundred thousand talents of gold and one million talents of silver, and bronze and iron beyond measure, for it is so abundant. I have prepared timber and stone also, and you may add to them.
And this is what God declared about David:
II Samuel 7:8-16 Now therefore, thus shall you say to My servant David, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “I took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep, to be ruler over My people, over Israel. And I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and have made you a great name, like the name of the great men who are on the earth. Moreover I will appoint a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own and move no more; nor shall the sons of wickedness oppress them anymore, as previously, since the time that I commanded judges to be over My people Israel, and have caused you to rest from all your enemies. Also the Lord tells you that He will make you a house. “When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men. But My mercy shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you. And your house and your kingdom shall be established forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever.” ’ ”
The house that David built was the tabernacle worship house...the House of Prayer later called the temple. The House God is building is the House of Jesus...David's heir, and His beloved Bride...the Groom who will sit on the throne of all creation forever as a man who is also God, along with His Bride of priests and kings!
Israel's failure to realize their strength in this hour is best shown in the story of Asa and Jehosaphat. Asa was a king of Judah, and Jehosaphat was his son. Asa started out great, relying on God, defeating all of his enemies through simple trust in the living God of David, but along the way, He gave into fear, and in a time of trouble, he turned to man instead of God:
II Chronicles 16:1-4 In the thirty-sixth year of the reign of Asa, Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah and built Ramah, that he might let none go out or come in to Asa king of Judah. Then Asa brought silver and gold from the treasuries of the house of the Lord and of the king’s house, and sent to Ben-Hadad king of Syria, who dwelt in Damascus, saying, “ Let there be a treaty between you and me, as there was between my father and your father. See, I have sent you silver and gold; come, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, so that he will withdraw from me.” So Ben-Hadad heeded King Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel. They attacked Ijon, Dan, Abel Maim, and all the storage cities of Naphtali.
Asa's man-based plan worked for a little while, but it DID NOT agree with God. In fact, hear what God said about this clever plan:
II Chronicles 16:7-9 And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him: “Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on the Lord your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped from your hand. Were the Ethiopians and the Lubim not a huge army with very many chariots and horsemen? Yet, because you relied on the Lord , He delivered them into your hand. For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars.”
Asa never relented, but hardened his heart. This man who started out trusting God, died in rebellion to God. But Asa had a son who took over for Him. Jehoshaphat was man like David, and did things like David:
II Chronicles 17:1-5 Then Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place, and strengthened himself against Israel. And he placed troops in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah and in the cities of Ephraim which Asa his father had taken. Now the Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the former ways of his father David; he did not seek the Baals, but sought the God of his father, and walked in His commandments and not according to the acts of Israel. Therefore the Lord established the kingdom in his hand...
