Seals, Trumpets, Bowls - 2
There is only one plan- covenant living!
The Book of Revelation tells the story in advance of the second "Book of Acts." Acts is the story of what grew out of the second Pentecost. The seed first sown in Jerusalem has taken root over much of the earth. The seed is the Gospel, the truth that Jesus is the Truth, The Life, and the Way. What was conceived in Jerusalem, has spread through much of the earth, and the time of delivery is at hand. What was conceived in Jerusalem at Pentecost was the Bride, and the day of the wedding of the Bride to her Groom...called the "day of the Lord" or "that day" in the Bible.
The seed is sown by the Bride in her telling the truth about Jesus being the gate and way to a re-connection with God, and demonstrating the truth of it with the healing of the sick, the casting out of demons, and signs and wonders as directed by the Father.
There are three necessary elements for me to do what I am supposed to be doing right now, which is called the "great commission." The great commission was only given to the Bride. No one else will fulfill it, and according to the Bible, the Great Commission reaches its greatest moment through the Seals, Trumpets, and Bowls of Revelation! To do the Great Commission it takes these three things:
1. the Father's direction,
John 5:19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.
2. the Bride being willing to speak the words of her Groom to enforce His victory over the earth and invite anyone willing to be a part of His royal family
Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
3. And the power of the Holy Spirit in order to fulfill this great commission. It is impossible to actually do what Jesus commanded apart from all three persons of God being a part of the operation:
Luke 24:46-49 Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things. Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”
The Holy Spirit came at Pentecost. Pentecost was the feast day, called the Feast of Weeks, or Shavout, that marked the 50 days from the first "Egypt" Passover until God gave moses the one and only covenant. Keeping the covenant was impossible under the old way of keeping it, which was reliant on mankind's discipline to stay within the law.
Romans 7:4-6 Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God. For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death. But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.
The "new" covenant was the ability to actually fulfilling the requirements of the original covenant. This is only possible by a perfect passover...instead of the best lamb of the Israelites being offered, it was God's own lamb...the firstborn Son, Jesus:
Mark 14:24 And He said to them, “This is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many.
Jesus didn't change the law, He came to make it possible for you and me to actually obey...fulfill...the law. Jesus called obeying the Spirit of the Law LOVE.
Matthew 5:18-19 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
John 14:15-16 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. (You need power from on high, so here comes the helper!) And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—
Jesus gave us the necessary power to keep the law. He didn't do it all for us, but rather gave us the ability to let Him, choice by choice, lead us into a life of complete obedience. That is why Jesus is not just a "gate" a way into the kingdom, but also the "way"...the example of how to walk in obedience. This requires an ACTUAL desire...reach...for obedience:
Matthew 7:14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
So this is the "Spirit of the Law"...if you have walked through the gate, and are following the way, you are supposed to be "all about" these two things:
Luke 10:25-28 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it? ” So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ ” And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”
This is what Adam and Eve were made to do. They lived in plain sight of God, had dominion over the earth, and were filled with the Holy Spirit. When they chose to rebel, the Holy Spirit left and they died, first in their spirit, where shame filled the space formerly occupied by the Spirit of God, then in their hearts (mind, will, and emotions) where their decisions ran further and further from God...and eventually their bodies died.
God gave Moses the law to show His people how far their hearts had run from the perfect design of LOVE. But Moses and the people lacked the Spirit of God on the inside. They were still less than capable of carrying the Infinite God in their person. Without God on the inside, there is no life. Life without God is an illusion born of His patience...the covenant could never be kept without God on the inside...but the covenant...man living in agreement with the Spirit of God's laws was no less valid! God had a plan to raise up a spotless Bride who will keep the covenant!
50 days after Jesus offered the perfect Passover sacrifice, on the Day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came and gave every member of the nation of Israel willing to receive the power of the new covenant the ability to actually keep the Spirit of the original Pentecost covenant!
Acts 2:1-4, 36-37, 40-41 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance...
Peter used the signs and wonders of the Holy Spirit as a chance to preach
The Good News!
.... “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.” Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.”...
And it worked!
...Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
Then they all came back together to regroup and do it again!
Acts 2:42-43 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.
This is the plan conceived at the second Pentecost to keep the covenant of the first Pentecost:
1. come together in one accord (khop/House of Prayer) and "tarry in the city" waiting for the power to come/increase.
2. When the power increases, go out and increase the harvest...use the supernatural work of the Spirit in me to preach the Good News...even in ones and twos
3. Everyone who gets saved comes back into the "one accord" meeting...rinse, repeat...
There is a soon coming third Pentecost that will be released at the opening of the seals to take the harvest to a whole new level. This is the last revival that will "roll out the red carpet" for Jesus to return! Before we get to that, I need to show you the oldest play in the Book. I'll do that next!
More soon...
