End Time Babylon – Part 9
Golden City, Haunt of Demons
I have been working my way through the Bible to show why I believe the USA is the end-time Harlot Babylon. I have been outlining that the spirit of Babylon is the thread that runs through the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. The thread started in Babel, the first global superpower with an anointed leader who wanted to make the world fair and equitable apart from God, and ends with the end-time Harlot Babylon, the last global superpower who will also have an anointed leader who desires to make the world fair and equitable apart from God. I have been trying to lay the groundwork for what I will say today.
Each “iteration” of Babylon has had two things in common: they were global superpowers, and they had strong rulers who got caught up in their own pride…started believing their own hype…and ended up demanding to be worshiped as God, whether by outright worship (Nimrod, Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar, Alexander the Great, Caesar), or by requiring that they be prayed to (Darius and Muhammad) exclusively (i.e., you could only request the necessities of life from the “god man”):
Daniel 6:6-9 So these governors and satraps thronged before the king, and said thus to him: "King Darius, live forever! (7) All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions. (8) Now, O king, establish the decree and sign the writing, so that it cannot be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter." (9) Therefore King Darius signed the written decree.
This is the “mystery religion” that has run throughout history from Babel to our present day. It has had many faces, but it has never died. The mystery is based on the pyramid…the all seeing eye…the ziggurat…that marks the first iterations of this “governmental religion”. Nimrod built the first ziggurat to be able to dwell at the top of it and watch over the people, to be the “king” but also the “god” of the people. This is what satan wants, “to ascend God’s holy mountain” and the mystery behind each “god man,” whether it is Nebuchadnezzar, Caesar, Muhammad, or a modern day global superpower leader, is the fact that Lucifer himself is exerting his desire through a man! This is what led to Lucifer’s fall…this one desire:
Isaiah 14:12-14 "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations! (13) For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; (14) I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.'
Do you see what God says about this? It says this desire of Lucifer’s not only led to his fall, but it has “weakened the nations.” Mankind has “dominion” over the earth. Satan has always tried to exert his desire to be god by exploiting our dominion and our free will. When the spirit of Babylon is invited into a man’s heart…that desire to do something great in making the earth like the Garden of Eden APART from agreement with God…it weakens the nation. Nimrod brought Babel to confusion with his agreement with satan that he would “ascend” the tower of Babel. Nebuchadnezzar weakened the nation when he was given over to the mind of a beast at this same boastful attitude:
Daniel 4:30-34 The king spoke, saying, "Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and for the honor of my majesty?" (31) While the word was still in the king's mouth, a voice fell from heaven: "King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken: the kingdom has departed from you! (32) And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. They shall make you eat grass like oxen; and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses." (33) That very hour the word was fulfilled concerning Nebuchadnezzar; he was driven from men and ate grass like oxen; his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair had grown like eagles' feathers and his nails like birds' claws. (34) And at the end of the time I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me; and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever: For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom is from generation to generation.
This odd story of Nebuchadnezzar’s delusion is an end-time story. The antichrist, the last Nebuchadnezzar…the last Nimrod…will let the same spirit of Babylon enter into his heart. He will pridefully begin believing his own hype that he is some sort of messiah (maybe people will even paint pictures of him like he is Jesus offering himself to the people), and he will be “given over” to what he has chosen in his mind…he will be given the mind of the last beast, and this is what it will look like:
Revelation 13:4-9 So they worshiped the dragon (satan, the mystery behind the man, who is the beast) who gave authority to the beast (the last “Nimrod”, the ruler of the last Babylon) ; and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?" (5) And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months (1,260 days…this is the second half of the 7-year tribulation that starts with the peace treaty being “confirmed” or “guaranteed” by this man.) (6) Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. (7) It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. (8) All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (9) If anyone has an ear, let him hear. (this WILL NOT seem likely…it takes spiritual ears to “hear” this message)
So, to summarize this idea…the spirit of Babylon will meet the spirit of the Antichrist and FULLY blossom one time in history, and it will happen in the last 7 years, known as the “70th week” of Daniel.
Daniel 9:26-27 "And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
(this already happened during, and shortly after, the “69th week” of Daniel. The City of Jerusalem AND the temple were destroyed in 70 ad. Then later comes the 70th week…described next)
The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined. (27) Then he (antichrist, the last Babel “god king”) shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering (and HE will ascend the holy mountain and sit as God in the temple). And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate."
This last Nimrod won’t build a tower of Babel, He wants to ascend THE Holy Mountain…the Temple Mount in Israel, and satan has a plan to help him. The plan is to be god to Israel by her own choice…she has always wanted a man to come save her…ever since she asked for king Saul. The man she chooses to trust in for salvation will really desire to ascend the “mountain” of God…just like Nimrod. It will all take place over the course of the last “week”…the last 7 years.
This last week will come “like a flood” and will begin with the Antichrist “confirming” the peace treating he concocts by agreeing in his heart to be the protector, god, of Israel, so that she will do what he wants, which is to make HIM the man who brings peace to the earth (a fake “prince of peace”…a counterfeit of Jesus). This makes him the greatest natural “priest (secretly of satan) and king” the earth has ever seen. He wants to offer himself as a humanistic Jesus, the true “Priest (of God the Father) and King”….
Do you see!? What we see on earth is actually the final heavenly assault of satan trying to imitate…to be like…God, with his son…the man of lawlessness…sitting in the temple as an alternative to Jesus! The final world’s greatest leader wants to be like Jesus! Jesus is the only true prince of peace…the Priest AND King:
Hebrews 7:1 For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,
Hebrews 5:8-10 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. (9) And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, (10) called by God as High Priest "ACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK,"
This is the “spirit of antichrist”: to be “God and King” to the people. From satan’s viewpoint, the antichrist will be “priest of satan and king” to the people. Satan wants to be “like” the father. The son of satan wants to be king and provider to the world. He will do this by promising hope and change…peace, citizenship, and/or other people’s wealth and strength…to the masses if they will give their loyalty to him. We can see this literally happening before our eyes, if we will watch…if we have ears to hear and eyes to see.
This end-time leader of the last superpower hates his own country and wants to fundamentally change it, the Bible says he aligns with 10 Islamic radical leaders, who also hate his country. He single-handedly deposes three of the leaders in order to install radical Islamist leaders in three of the countries he needs to align with (this is all in Daniel 7). This is what will happen to this last global superpower…the end-time Babylon:
Revelation 17:12-18 "The ten horns (10 radical Islamic leaders) which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. (13) These are of one mind (they all hate the Antichrists country and Israel), and they will give their power and authority to the beast (even though they hate his country). (14) These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful." (15) Then he said to me, "The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues. (16) And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. (17) For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. (18) And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth."
This is an important passage to consider. There is so much information in the Bible about the last iteration of Babylon. There are a couple of points in this Revelation 17 passage to examine.
1. In verse 15 it says “The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues.” There is only one country in the history of the world, because of position, wealth, and TECHNOLOGY…that sits over the peoples of the earth. No one has done this exact thing quit like the USA. We export culture globally. We export our political influence globally. We export our currency globally…literally global trade is based on the American dollar, which is why we can get away with printing 4 billion a month out of thin air. We export entertainment…we export a false idea of massed living in luxury…we export fast food, pop music, rap music, pornography…we are the only country to ever sit on the waters of the earth like we do…ever. From a common sense, main and plain reading, this is clearly USA.
2. We literally are the only country on the face of the planet that “reigns over the kings of the earth.” We do this with promising, or withdrawing, foreign aid! Trading wealth (which we don’t have) for power. This is satan’s Ezekiel 29 MO! It is this very idea, that we sit over the waters of the earth, that has left the “10 Horns” and the people they represent hating us. The reason they chant “death to the USA” all over the middle east, even though they live daily on our aid, is because we export our culture in a way they hate! This is why they will “burn us with fire” as soon as they have a chance!
There are many passages about this event…the burning with fire that will happen in the last 7 years of world history. Revelation 18 goes on to explain more about the character of the last Babylon, and why she will be burned with fire (my comments in parenthesis):
Revelation 18:1-24 After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. (2) And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, "Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!
This is significant, this phrase “has become a dwelling place of demons.” This wording reveals that the last Babylon wasn’t always this way. In Isaiah 14, another end-time passage, Babylon was referred to as the “once golden city”:
Isaiah 14:4-7 that you will take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say: "How the oppressor has ceased, The golden city ceased! (5) The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, The scepter of the rulers; (6) He who struck the people in wrath with a continual stroke, He who ruled the nations in anger, Is persecuted and no one hinders. (7) The whole earth is at rest and quiet; They break forth into singing (the reference to “singing” here is super important…but I will address that in the last installment).
So the “golden city” becomes a haunt of demons. We can see this daily in the news. The USA was born out of a desire to cast off a “god man”…the king of England, who had invented his own religion and forced everyone in England to subscribe to it.!
From our very beginning, the American colony was the golden city of “self reliance!” The pilgrims understood self-reliance to be GOD RELIANCE. They traded the security of England for the freedom of simply trusting God to provide. (Because, as a country, we stopped believing in "loving our neighbor as ourself" during the depression, when it was really costly, we replaced God with social security, and the flood of other government security programs that followed in the 1930s. We traded freedom for security in a profound way. Whoever you trust to provide for and protect you BECOMES your god. We traded, as a country, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, for government…and government grew and grew to promise more and more. Now, the idea of government as provider is normal. Of course there is a government program for that!
This is not at all what our forefathers wanted. They instituted checks and balances and limited government to stop a king from taking over. What was born out of this humble trust in God to forge a new path in world history was FREEDOM! Freedom, primarily, to worship God as those pilgrims, and later the framers of the constitution, saw fit. Never again would these brave risk taking men and women be forced to worship in the Anglican church the king devised, but they were intent to be free to worship the Lord of Heaven’s armies the Bible described!
Oh, how America prospered and defied all odds to become the global superpower! BUT, she became intoxicated with the very wealth agreement with God had provided. Quickly she began trading freedom…trusting in petitions to God as her national security…to government promises of security. The nation was ripe for the perfect god man to come along and promise her everything her heart desired…no worry…just prosperity without risk (faith) or work. How the golden city has ceased, friends. Watch the news for a half an hour…we have become a literal “haunt of demons”…crimes against children hourly, corruption at every level of government, lying, random acts of murder in schools and offices and theaters and shopping malls DAILY. Lust thrust on our kids everywhere from the checkout line to the Disney shows…normalization of lifestyles the Bible clearly calls DESOLATE…we ARE a haunt of demons…for real.
Back to Revelation 18…this is why:
(3) For all the nations have drunk of the wine (the perversion she exports globally…the perversion of lust and obscene luxury) of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her (traded loyalty to her for power), and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury." (her appetites feed the global economy…that is why the globe shudders EVERY TIME we make a significant economic decision)
Ok friends, pay attention…this is why I am willing to say such harsh things about my own country. I don’t want this American dream…I want God’s very good plan. There is a plan to save ANYONE who wants to agree with God, but you MUST agree with him about this place:
(4) And I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. (5) For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. (6) Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her. (7) In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, 'I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.' (8) Therefore her plagues will come in one day—death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her.
“Come out of her.” This is a very specific command from heaven. My last installment will cover exactly what this means. I’ll end this one by simply letting you read what the entire earth will do when the haunt of demons falls:
(9) "The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, (10) standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.' (11) "And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: (12) merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; (13) and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men. (14) The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all. (15) The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, (16) and saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! (17) For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.' Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance (18) and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, 'What is like this great city?' (19) "They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.' (statistically, the USA, by far, has the most ship-bound commerce the earth has ever seen…I posted the stats a few weeks ago) (20) "Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you on her!" (21) Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, "Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore. (22) The sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters shall not be heard in you anymore. No craftsman of any craft shall be found in you anymore, and the sound of a millstone shall not be heard in you anymore. (23) The light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived. (24) And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who were slain on the earth." (many of God’s people live in the end-time harlot, and according to the Bible, she will be FULL of the blood of martyrs…I’ll explain more in the last installment).

This is the “spirit of antichrist”: to be “God and King” to the people. From satan’s viewpoint, the antichrist will be “priest of satan and king” to the people. Satan wants to be “like” the father. The son of satan wants to be king and provider to the world. He will do this by promising hope and change…peace, citizenship, and/or other people’s wealth and strength…to the masses if they will give their loyalty to him. We can see this literally happening before our eyes, if we will watch…if we have ears to hear and eyes to see.
This end-time leader of the last superpower hates his own country and wants to fundamentally change it, the Bible says he aligns with 10 Islamic radical leaders, who also hate his country. He single-handedly deposes three of the leaders in order to install radical Islamist leaders in three of the countries he needs to align with (this is all in Daniel 7). This is what will happen to this last global superpower…the end-time Babylon:
Revelation 17:12-18 "The ten horns (10 radical Islamic leaders) which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. (13) These are of one mind (they all hate the Antichrists country and Israel), and they will give their power and authority to the beast (even though they hate his country). (14) These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful." (15) Then he said to me, "The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues. (16) And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. (17) For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. (18) And the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth."
This is an important passage to consider. There is so much information in the Bible about the last iteration of Babylon. There are a couple of points in this Revelation 17 passage to examine.
1. In verse 15 it says “The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues.” There is only one country in the history of the world, because of position, wealth, and TECHNOLOGY…that sits over the peoples of the earth. No one has done this exact thing quit like the USA. We export culture globally. We export our political influence globally. We export our currency globally…literally global trade is based on the American dollar, which is why we can get away with printing 4 billion a month out of thin air. We export entertainment…we export a false idea of massed living in luxury…we export fast food, pop music, rap music, pornography…we are the only country to ever sit on the waters of the earth like we do…ever. From a common sense, main and plain reading, this is clearly USA.
2. We literally are the only country on the face of the planet that “reigns over the kings of the earth.” We do this with promising, or withdrawing, foreign aid! Trading wealth (which we don’t have) for power. This is satan’s Ezekiel 29 MO! It is this very idea, that we sit over the waters of the earth, that has left the “10 Horns” and the people they represent hating us. The reason they chant “death to the USA” all over the middle east, even though they live daily on our aid, is because we export our culture in a way they hate! This is why they will “burn us with fire” as soon as they have a chance!
There are many passages about this event…the burning with fire that will happen in the last 7 years of world history. Revelation 18 goes on to explain more about the character of the last Babylon, and why she will be burned with fire (my comments in parenthesis):
Revelation 18:1-24 After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. (2) And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, "Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!
This is significant, this phrase “has become a dwelling place of demons.” This wording reveals that the last Babylon wasn’t always this way. In Isaiah 14, another end-time passage, Babylon was referred to as the “once golden city”:
Isaiah 14:4-7 that you will take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say: "How the oppressor has ceased, The golden city ceased! (5) The LORD has broken the staff of the wicked, The scepter of the rulers; (6) He who struck the people in wrath with a continual stroke, He who ruled the nations in anger, Is persecuted and no one hinders. (7) The whole earth is at rest and quiet; They break forth into singing (the reference to “singing” here is super important…but I will address that in the last installment).
So the “golden city” becomes a haunt of demons. We can see this daily in the news. The USA was born out of a desire to cast off a “god man”…the king of England, who had invented his own religion and forced everyone in England to subscribe to it.!
From our very beginning, the American colony was the golden city of “self reliance!” The pilgrims understood self-reliance to be GOD RELIANCE. They traded the security of England for the freedom of simply trusting God to provide. (Because, as a country, we stopped believing in "loving our neighbor as ourself" during the depression, when it was really costly, we replaced God with social security, and the flood of other government security programs that followed in the 1930s. We traded freedom for security in a profound way. Whoever you trust to provide for and protect you BECOMES your god. We traded, as a country, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, for government…and government grew and grew to promise more and more. Now, the idea of government as provider is normal. Of course there is a government program for that!
This is not at all what our forefathers wanted. They instituted checks and balances and limited government to stop a king from taking over. What was born out of this humble trust in God to forge a new path in world history was FREEDOM! Freedom, primarily, to worship God as those pilgrims, and later the framers of the constitution, saw fit. Never again would these brave risk taking men and women be forced to worship in the Anglican church the king devised, but they were intent to be free to worship the Lord of Heaven’s armies the Bible described!
Oh, how America prospered and defied all odds to become the global superpower! BUT, she became intoxicated with the very wealth agreement with God had provided. Quickly she began trading freedom…trusting in petitions to God as her national security…to government promises of security. The nation was ripe for the perfect god man to come along and promise her everything her heart desired…no worry…just prosperity without risk (faith) or work. How the golden city has ceased, friends. Watch the news for a half an hour…we have become a literal “haunt of demons”…crimes against children hourly, corruption at every level of government, lying, random acts of murder in schools and offices and theaters and shopping malls DAILY. Lust thrust on our kids everywhere from the checkout line to the Disney shows…normalization of lifestyles the Bible clearly calls DESOLATE…we ARE a haunt of demons…for real.
Back to Revelation 18…this is why:
(3) For all the nations have drunk of the wine (the perversion she exports globally…the perversion of lust and obscene luxury) of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her (traded loyalty to her for power), and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury." (her appetites feed the global economy…that is why the globe shudders EVERY TIME we make a significant economic decision)
Ok friends, pay attention…this is why I am willing to say such harsh things about my own country. I don’t want this American dream…I want God’s very good plan. There is a plan to save ANYONE who wants to agree with God, but you MUST agree with him about this place:
(4) And I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. (5) For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. (6) Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her. (7) In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, 'I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.' (8) Therefore her plagues will come in one day—death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her.
“Come out of her.” This is a very specific command from heaven. My last installment will cover exactly what this means. I’ll end this one by simply letting you read what the entire earth will do when the haunt of demons falls:
(9) "The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, (10) standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.' (11) "And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: (12) merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; (13) and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men. (14) The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all. (15) The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, (16) and saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls! (17) For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.' Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance (18) and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, 'What is like this great city?' (19) "They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.' (statistically, the USA, by far, has the most ship-bound commerce the earth has ever seen…I posted the stats a few weeks ago) (20) "Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you on her!" (21) Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, "Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore. (22) The sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters shall not be heard in you anymore. No craftsman of any craft shall be found in you anymore, and the sound of a millstone shall not be heard in you anymore. (23) The light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived. (24) And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who were slain on the earth." (many of God’s people live in the end-time harlot, and according to the Bible, she will be FULL of the blood of martyrs…I’ll explain more in the last installment).
