Lawlessness

What do the Bible and the news say about "lawlessness"? To be lawless is to consider yourself above authority. To change laws and "truth" at your own whim, to change social norms and lead many astray, primarily by enticement and appealing to the desire of mankind for freedom, justice, peace, and prosperity. Everything Jesus promises in God's perfect government, lawlessness seeks to provide in an alternative rebellious government. This is the communism of the early 20th century, and the new "progressivism" of our current time. There is a promised time when a lawless "one" will partner with a lawless branch of the Church...this is called the "time of the end"...or the Day of the Lord...the events of Revelation:

II Thessalonians 2:7-12 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Many have the wrong idea about the nature of this lawlessness. It isn't as obvious as many presume. Because the appeal of lawlessness is so strong, most people are not naturally sensitive to its initial working in the heart. Lawlessness appeals to the cost of the fall...when justice, peace, equality, and productivity were broken by the removal of God's glory from earth.

When Adam and Eve rebelled against God's perfect government, they "broke" the earth because for love, God withdrew until mankind could be renewed...this withdrawing caused the earth to be less than alive. Trees that produced fruit monthly now barely produced at all...the ground itself became unproductive:

Genesis 3:17-19 Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’: “Cursed is the ground for your sake; In toil you shall eat of it All the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.”

What has resulted from this reality is "scarcity"...one group of people have more than another and, by God's word, there is barely enough to go around.

The TRUE answer to the dilemma is to invite the glory of God back into the land so he fixes it. God has a plan to get the earth to either invite Him back or completely reject Him. Places that invite Him back night and day will experience increasing measures of glory...the actual presence of God touching the land and supernaturally increasing peace, justice, and productivity of both land and soul in agreement with God's government. This is what night and day prayer and worship...David's Tabernacle...is all about...singing God's government into the land. This is Jesus' end-time plan for the Bride:

Psalms 149:3-9 Let them praise His name with the dance; Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp. For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation. Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand, To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishments on the peoples; To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute on them the written judgment— This honor have all His saints. Praise the Lord !

Singing the glory back to earth is how the Kingdom of Jesus will actually manifest in advance of His return. It is "birthed" like a flower opening...it happens so gradually it is barely noticed by people not looking for it until it matures.

Lawlessness is the same way. Just like singing and praying introduces God's government to some areas, rebellion...taking matters into man's own hands... will bring desolation to other areas. This has happened in small ways many times in the past. Every time communism has been attempted it results in war, famine, and death...yet the world wants one last human solution.

Right now, socialism...progressivism...is remaking the earth. There is a lawless one who is promising hope and change. A simple search of Google News for the word "lawless" will point out exactly who considers themselves above the law, to change it at whim, in order to advance the agenda of promising equality, justice, peace, and prosperity to those who have not. This is evil. Only God's glory can fix the earth made to run not on sunshine, but the light of man (John 1).

The lawless one changes laws...cause he doesn't need any authority telling him what to do. The "lawless one" Paul talked about is the antichrist. By sneakery, he is going to uproot three middle eastern governments and at the same time, be known for his lawlessness:

Daniel 7:24-25 The ten horns are ten kings Who shall arise from this kingdom. And another shall rise after them; He shall be different from the first ones, And shall subdue three kings. He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time.

In addition, the lawless one is going to get help from the misguided "church." Christians will have a major role in advancing lawlessness because false prophets will rise up to lead many astray. The hearts of the false prophets are bent toward a man-based plan.

Many Christians think prayer is a nice thing to do when you don't have any real things to do. Jesus feels exactly the opposite. Prayer is what will manifest His government.

II Peter 2:1-3 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.

By covetousness? What does that mean? That means the false prophets will appeal to the appetites of mankind for stuff, prominence, and power. Everything people are tempted to covet, false prophets and the antichrist will appeal to in very inviting ways. This has always been satan's way of corrupting mankind: promise them a better government...better leadership...than God. Satan doesn't do this by offering outright to be God. No! He accomplishes this by tempting mankind to be their own God. Man wants a king! Israel wanted Saul, not God. The Pharisees and Jews of Jesus' day wanted Caesar, not the Messiah, and the last generation will want the lawless one that promises them what the earth needs: a new world order of fairness, security, peace, freedom, and prosperity. He will sell it by appealing to what people really want...freedom to cast off God's restrictions. He is doing it right now...all around us.

The spirit of lawlessness has been at work ever since Satan rebelled against God, seeking to establish his own throne...his own government...over God's creation. How did satan get caught up in the fall? By the abundance of "trading":

Ezekiel 28:15-16 You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you. “By the abundance of your trading You became filled with violence within, And you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing Out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the fiery stones.

Satan traded power for loyalty. He offered the angels a higher position than God had given them...wealth satan did not yet own...if the angels would join his rebellion. One third of the angels bought in! Satan was the first redistributor of wealth. He promised God's wealth to angels and man in order to consolidate his own power. What those angels who rebelled got was death and none of the promises of power.

Redistribution of wealth never works...it is lawless. God's glory returning to earth at the invitation of mankind is what will produce the life we crave...nothing else.

The lawless one promises to redistribute wealth...take from the rich and give to the poor...as a means of coming into power. The false prophet is a massive Christian spokesperson who joins antichrist in his campaign for global redistribution. This religious leader who has a massive following will give his credibility to the lawless one and cause many to worship the antichrist:

Revelation 13:11-12 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

The false prophet sounds like Jesus...like the lamb...caring for the poor, seeking the lost...but he speaks like satan the dragon, using enough Bible verses to sound true, but just enough deception to incite outright rebellion to God. "Did God really say?" So, when you see the lawless one partner with the ultimate "man of God"...both claiming that redistribution led by the government is the answer, you know you have arrived at the tribulation. Are you looking?
