Meekness

Psalms 37:9-11 For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord , They shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more. But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.

Meekness is generally not valued by the leaders of the earth, or the people that follow them. Meekness is voluntarily setting aside human strength and leadership and instead choosing to make the invisible God my strength and leader. This is the strongest position of power. God isn't giving the inheritance of the earth the weak and feeble, He is giving it to the strong, but His definition of strong is different that the world's. Like any father, God is giving the inheritance of the earth to His sons and daughters...men and women who understand, know, and make decisions that affirm the strength and love of the father.

Meekness is simply humility in action. Humility is NOT voluntary weakness or lying about ability. Humility is simply knowing what I bring to the table and what God brings. If I am truly making God my strength... choosing meekness...I bring my "yes" and acknowledge that God brings everything else. I position myself to agree with Him by yielding to this truth.

My yes is powerful when connected to God's strength! Speaking words in agreement with the Father..saying yes to what He is saying...confident that He is the power that will accomplish those commands is called faith! Faith is powerful to actually transform the physical realm to agree with God:

Luke 17:6 So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.

Humility and faith are co-dependent. I can talk about faith, teach about faith, and even pray sounding faithful, but without humility...really understanding that God is the only one able and relying on Him to tell me WHAT to pray...faith cannot grow. Without faith...knowing that God is powerful and good and will do what I speak in agreement with Him...humility will not grow. Meekness (humility in action) and faith are like two intertwined vines. They grow together, and as they do, my identity as a son becomes more established in my own heart. This is what establishes my inheritance of my Father's garden.

Jesus has a plan to extract meekness from the men and women of the earth. Those who resist meekness will fall away. They will not inherit the earth because they choose rebellion to the Father, who owns the inheritance. Everyone gets what they want. Choose to make what everyone else makes their strength and you will inherit what everyone else inherits.

This is the plan of Revelation. The events of Revelation describe God removing every wicked strength in order that the Bride would fully rely on her groom and His true authority and leadership. There will be no flirtation with world-based strength in the pure and spotless Bride committed to the true owner and leader of the world taking possession of His vineyard again.

Psalms 52:5-8 God shall likewise destroy you forever; He shall take you away, and pluck you out of your dwelling place, And uproot you from the land of the living. Selah The righteous also shall see and fear, And shall laugh at him, saying, “Here is the man who did not make God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.” But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.

Every compromise with worldly strength is disloyalty to the groom. The seven churches of Revelation are told in Chapters 2 and 3 how to overcome the tribulation in advance of the events of tribulation beginning in Chapter 6. There is a concerted effort to get the Bride to ignore tribulation so she won't prepare herself to overcome. "It will all work out" is the refrain of the apathetic...it will...but how will it work out for me? How will it work out for those Jesus loves who live in my sphere of influence? Overcoming is more than dying or getting raptured, it is standing on true strength when every other house is sinking sand...if I truly love others I must not just be ready to stand, but help others to stand as well.

I will overcome the tribulation in meekness...under the shadow of the Father's wing. I position myself under Dad's wing by agreeing with Him about what is true.

The 7 churches are told that to overcome the tribulation they have to overcome reputations of being alive, worldly comfort that lulls complacency, they have to overcome a fear of man in calling out false teachers and false leaders right in their midst (hating the Nicolaitans) who are convincing the people in the church that this life now is more important than Jesus taking possession of the earth and our part in that with holy living (false grace)...the seven churches are taught in Revelation 2 and 3 that to overcome the world's idea of covering and wealth...which will be intentionally dashed to pieces by God...you have to make love...first love...the strength that overflows in real labor and service....this is how we overcome what is coming. Trouble is at the door. Do you hear it? Do you see it? The world believes it will simply subside once more. I tell you, Jesus tells you...the great cloud of witnesses tells you...it will not. All eyes are on this generation.

What is needed is to grow in Acts 5 living. This requires meekness. Acts 5 is going global in the pure and spotless...the meek... Bride. Those first disciples weren't weak...they were meek...and their humility allowed unity. Unity of the family brings the authority of Dad to earth. A divided house cannot stand in representing the Father of the House, because He is One...undivided.

We don't need strong leaders...we need servant leaders. We don't need more chiefs telling a smaller and smaller tribe what to do, we need a body, where the hand does the hand stuff, and the arm does the arm stuff, and the toe does the toe stuff...well...with God as the heart, pumping the Spirit to every part...and Jesus as the head...leading the whole thing in true wisdom and righteousness...and the whole thing grows up together to enforce the victory of her groom in advance of His coming!

The world trades power for loyalty, because that is how satan attempts to get power. Satan promises stolen wealth and authority to others in order to consolidate his own grip on power. But all the anointing...all the skill...all the gifting...all the wisdom and power belongs to the owner of creation. It is His to direct. For love, He is patient in letting us decide whom we will serve with His gifts and strength. But there is coming a day soon when every strength but His will fail, every government but the one seated in the New Jerusalem will fall, and every leader but God will lead the people into ditches. Now is the time to fill my lamp with oil that I would not only see clearly through the long dark night but that the light of His flame would shine through me in meekness, as I yield to true strength!

Matthew 20:25-28 But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
