The Clarity of the Rapture
The rapture is one of the most clear doctrines in the Bible. You won't see the word "rapture" in the Bible, but the event itself is clearly defined and explained. The timing of it is actually crystal clear.
This is one of the most widely debated topics in Jesus' Body, and as the world heats up, the discussion will become more intense, but the truth is you can know with clarity when it will occur if you dig into the word. God does not want anyone confused about it. In fact, he gave us a precise number of days to count down to it!
God is very much interested in you knowing EXACTLY when the rapture will happen. This will sustain His Bride through an intense season. God has limited the number of days of intensity and told us how many there will be until He takes catches His family up. The intense time has been "set." God will not allow it to go on one day longer than has been determined:
Matthew 24:21-22 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.
Daniel was the first to find out how many days from the time the intensity starts until the rapture:
Daniel 12:7 The man dressed in linen, who was standing above the river, raised both his hands toward heaven and took a solemn oath by the One who lives forever, saying, “It will go on for a time, times, and half a time. When the shattering of the holy people has finally come to an end, all these things will have happened.”
This is confirmed several other places:
Revelation 13:4-5 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months.
1,260 days = 42 months = 3.5 years...(360 days in a Jewish year). This number of days has been SET. This is the number of days between the start of the great tribulation and the rapture...the day Jesus splits the sky and gathers His family to himself on a "sea of glass." The family will be billions strong, God is assembling them to go into the final battle for Jerusalem. You need a Sea of Glass in the sky to assemble this many people. The sea of glass has been seen on earth before:
Ezekiel 1:4, 22-23, 26 Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire. ...The likeness of the firmament above the heads of the living creatures was like the color of an awesome crystal, stretched out over their heads. And under the firmament their wings spread out straight, one toward another. Each one had two which covered one side, and each one had two which covered the other side of the body....And above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a man high above it.
The firmament, or sea of glass, is where the throne of the Lord sits, and His people gather. The throne is coming to earth when Jesus splits the sky. He isn't coming for a visit, He's coming to stay! He's gathering His people to himself at this time.
This all happens at the sounding of a set of trumpets. Everywhere this event is described, it is associated with the trumpets. Specifically, Paul told us it was the last in a series of trumpets that will usher in the rapture, and the end of the tribulation. The tribulation ends for the church when we are gathered up off of the earth, not to go away somewhere, but to get new bodies that are eternal, supernatural, glorified and ready for the final battle that will usher in a new era of Jesus remaking all of the earth back to what God called "very good" in Genesis 1:31.
Matthew 24:31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
I Corinthians 14:8 For if the trumpet makes an uncertain sound, who will prepare for battle?
I Thessalonians 4:15-18 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
This is comfort for tribulation. We will remind each other..."1,000 days until He comes, let's press in to the harvest!"..."500 more days!"..."5 more days!!!" We will know when to start counting on the day a man, the antichrist, erects a statue of himself in the new temple is Jerusalem. The antichrist will break the peace treaty, invade Israel, and on the day he sets up the statue (called the abomination of desolation), we will start counting. Heaven will agree with the release of trumpet blasts. The last trumpet will sound on the 1,260th day:
I Corinthians 15:51-52 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
There is only one series of trumpets in the New Testament...the trumpets of Revelation. The mystery of God will be complete at the sounding of the seventh trumpet:
Revelation 10:7 but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the MYSTERY of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.
Remember, that is what Paul said, too! I Corinthians 15:51 Behold, I tell you a mystery...
What is this MYSTERY? It is the wedding! God with man restored through the uniting of Jesus and His Bride...the rapture...what God called very good in Genesis 1:31: God with man on earth, the supernatural rejoined to the physical, and it starts with the rapture, man gathered up and joined with Jesus, not to leave earth, but to begin remaking earth over 1,000 years! Here is the MYSTERY:
Ephesians 5:31-32 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Ephesians 1:9-10 having made known to us the MYSTERY of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.
The Bride gets ready for the wedding through the tribulation. This is clear from the Bible. Seven churches go into a time of trouble and one spotless Bride comes out of it, gathered with Jesus on the Sea of glass. There is a Chronological break between the Seventh Trumpet in Revelation 11 and the next chronological event in Revelation 15. Here are the two events back to back:
Jesus splits the sky to take back everything He bought with His sinless blood:
Revelation 11:15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!”
And we are gathered to Him:
Revelation 15:1-3 Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them the wrath of God is complete. And I saw something like a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who have the victory over the beast, over his image and over his mark and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, having harps of God. They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: “Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints!
It isn't just the ones who have resisted the mark and stayed loyal to Jesus on the sea of glass! No! This is the greatest moment so far since the fall, because on that sea, singing the song of Moses will be all the saints...even those who sang the song of Moses for real crossing the Red Sea!!
