Gold Bought in Fire Cities of Refuge Pt 2: Acceleration

The one characteristic that will mark the next several years is acceleration. The acceleration I am describing is actually a "speeding up" that will sift out people that are truly desiring to live with Jesus.

Darkness and light are both accelerating at break-neck speed. This is what happens at harvest time. After months of planting, tending, watering, and laboring in the field watching a crop slowly grow, harvest season comes. Harvest season is the end, when the fruit of months of work gets gathered in a short period of time...a week or two. During harvest season, everything else gets put on hold; everyone gets involved in the labor until the harvest is brought in. It has always worked this way, even to this day, on family farms.

If you belong to Jesus, then the truth is that you really do live on a family farm! It is harvest season brothers and sisters:

Matthew 9:37-38 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

We know the harvest has matured because of the unprecedented level of wickedness and rebellion all around us. Family murder/suicides are happening daily, school shootings are a normal occurrence, wars, rumors of wars, lust everywhere, materialism in the church, selfishness, greed, corruption are all "a given" for our leaders...we simply expect them to be corrupt at this point. The once "golden city" of Isaiah 14 has become the haunt of demons in Revelation 18:

Revelation 18:2-4 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.” And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.

The immense amount of darkness globally, and also primarily in our own country...darkness driven by greed, self interest, and desire for material wealth and satisfaction...is an end time indicator and promised to mature in full. Right now this darkness is producing the fruit of very unimaginable evil like ISIS, and Boko Haram, but also more insidious evil like lawlessness in government, media, and church. This darkness is accelerating all around us. BUT, the wheat (the pure and spotless Bride) and the tares (the self interested greedy harlot pretend to be bride) mature together. That means great good is happening at the same time! The wheat is reaching new levels of purity, while the tares are reaching new levels of depravity, and the whole thing is speeding up! This is intense!

Matthew 13:24-30 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ”

By the clear signs of the culture around us, this parable is plainly seen. We are in the harvest time. In the balance are the unsaved people of the world. The wheat "shining forth" is what will save anyone who wants to be saved in the end time great harvest. Judgment starts in the church (I Peter 4:17) so those who remain will shine forth once the tares are removed and then it will be obvious to the world that Jesus was sent by the Father!

John 17:18-23 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth. “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

Sanctification is "separation" which is what the end time harvest is all about. The wheat and the tares must first be separated so that the wheat can shine forth as a witness to the unsaved on the world that Jesus is LORD so that anyone who calls on His name can be saved. Did you hear that? The parable of the wheat and tares is about the Church...but the harvest of the world lies in the balance. Many mistakenly attribute the wheat to the Church and the tares to the world, but that isn't at all what Jesus said...he said the tares are gathered "out of His kingdom":

Matthew 13:37-43 He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

It is essential to understand the harvest realities so that you can agree with them. You are running out of time to get in sync with Jesus. Time does matter, because Jesus is implementing His return process on a seven-year timetable. You MUST understand the time:

I Chronicles 12:32 of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command;

The harvest, the wedding, and giving birth are the three primary analogies the Lord uses to describe His plan to take over the leadership of the earth. That is what He is doing right now. I personally believe we are just entering the second year of a seven-year process that will result in a complete change in the leadership of the earth. This will culminate with Jesus' physical return to set up His capital in Jerusalem. That will make Jerusalem a "praise in the nations"

Isaiah 62:5-7 For as a young man marries a virgin, So shall your sons marry you; And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, So shall your God rejoice over you. I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord , do not keep silent, And give Him no rest till He establishes And till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

This act, Jesus returning to establish a government based entirely in love and free will in agreement with God...what I mean is a government run by voluntary lovers of God who have a testimony of living in His truth that love is stronger than self interest when He is the power driving that love...this process is likened by Jesus to a wedding, a harvest, and a baby being born.

All three of these events start out kind of calmly, with anticipation growing over time and culminating on a very intense season of completion. Do you see what I mean? The wedding is proposed, then a date is set usually sufficiently far enough ahead to make the arrangements "just so"...then, as the day nears, everything else fades into the background and the wedding becomes more and more primary, until the day comes and it is all you are really doing.

Baby being born?...same thing. Harvest?...same reality.

This is how Jesus' return is. It is supposed to grow, as the time nears, to be "all consuming." It is essential to understand the season you are in, because you don't want to make the mistake of being consumed with your own life at the EXACT moment you are supposed to be consumed with the return of the AUTHOR of life. this will be very bad for you if you aren't aware of the time. Not understanding the time you are in leaves you very likely to offend God and cost you, and those around you, MUCH. Many Church leaders...pastors and teachers...are giving no attention to the peculiar acceleration of the time we live in. this will be disastrous for YOU if you don't specifically agree with God about the time. Jesus isn't going to ask you what your pastor taught about the end times. He requires people that claim to know Him respond to His invitation to drop everything and come to His wedding. This takes time to voluntarily begin shifting the entire focus of your life:

Matthew 22:1-14 And Jesus answered and spoke to them again by parables and said: “The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come. Again, he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding.” ’ But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his business. And the rest seized his servants, treated them spitefully, and killed them. But when the king heard about it, he was furious. And he sent out his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.’ So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests. “But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment. So he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ “For many are called, but few are chosen.”

Everyone is called...you choose yourself. and your choosing is going to have an effect on how many get called in from the highways and byways and dressed...quickly discipled ...in wedding garments. This parable is loaded with information...loaded. Do you see some of it? Do you see how self interest keeps those INVITED from caring about the great honor given to them. Jesus was talking about the Church in this end time passage. You might think He was talking about Israel rejecting Him the first time...and He was...but the fullness of this parable happens in the end times with His Church. Much more extreme than Israel rejecting Jesus at His first coming is the Church who is promised to do EXACTLY what Israel did the first time Jesus came. Did you know that? Did anyone teach you that? The Bible is clear that MANY in the Church will be sifted out of the Bride, called falling away, all centered on the wedding.

II Thessalonians 2:1-3 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,

The falling away MUST come, because the tares MUST be separated so the wheat can shine forth and bring in the harvest. Great division is coming to the Church...look around actually, it is already happening! Jesus taught that the ones who bring the division in the end times are not the ones warning, it is the "mockers"... those who have no vision for the fact they are in a new season, where the old ways of the religious system will no longer work. The mockers have their own agenda, they don't want all this new intensity messing up their dreams of being important or keeping their income base stable!

Jude 1:17-21 But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

The mocking of the new and unusual plans of God will be one of the most prevalent realities in Jesus' body over the next year or two. Because of the intense acceleration, the sifting of the Bride will happen quite quickly, just like the farmer quickly transitions from pulling weeds to harvesting the corn itself, when the time is right.

Jesus taught this, but it was an older truth first spoken by God through the prophet Isaiah. Isaiah prophesied that in the last days God would implement an "unusual plan" that many would mock. Isaiah warned "don't mock this plan or it will result in your own trapping and destruction." Then Isaiah went on to explain that it was like a harvest season. The work of farming CHANGES when the harvest comes. It requires doing new and unusual work. You have to understand that being a Christian in the end times is supposed to be much different than in the previous generations:

Isaiah 28:21-29 For the Lord will rise up as at Mount Perazim, He will be angry as in the Valley of Gibeon— That He may do His work, His awesome work, And bring to pass His act, His unusual act. Now therefore, do not be mockers, Lest your bonds be made strong; For I have heard from the Lord God of hosts, A destruction determined even upon the whole earth. Give ear and hear my voice, Listen and hear my speech. Does the plowman keep plowing all day to sow? Does he keep turning his soil and breaking the clods? When he has leveled its surface, Does he not sow the black cumin And scatter the cummin, Plant the wheat in rows, The barley in the appointed place, And the spelt in its place? For He instructs him in right judgment, His God teaches him. For the black cumin is not threshed with a threshing sledge, Nor is a cartwheel rolled over the cummin; But the black cumin is beaten out with a stick, And the cummin with a rod. Bread flour must be ground; Therefore he does not thresh it forever, Break it with his cartwheel, Or crush it with his horsemen. This also comes from the Lord of hosts, Who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in guidance.

In the harvest time...the last days...God has promised to implement a work routine for the family farm that is "unusual."

Do you know what this means?

This unusual work routing will be all consuming, like harvest on any family farm. This unusual work routine will resulting in the quick establishment of places where the Bride is "shining forth" and that will protect geographic areas from darkness overtaking the land. BUT, this process will consumes everything in the life of those reaching to shine forth. Are you willing to let it take over YOUR life? If you aren't, what you are going to find is that you will be sifted out of the Bride.

The sifting MUST come. That isn't my warning, that is Jesus' truth. If you don't respond to the wedding invitation "all in"...actually putting the legitimate pursuits of life that were acceptable at other times on "hold" in order to respond to the invitation, you will find your "city burned." Remember Jesus' wedding parable? Listen to His words again from Matthew 22:

"But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his business. And the rest seized his servants, treated them spitefully, and killed them. But when the king heard about it, he was furious. And he sent out his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city."

Going on with business as usual, even business that was perfectly fine before the wedding call, and trying to keep Jesus' return in the "wait and see" box is the OPPOSITE of the way to build a city of refuge in the end times. This is a guaranteed recipe for getting the city you live in destroyed by the end time fire: keep living like you always have trying to ignore the intense events happening all around you.

Many try to ignore the news. That is a big mistake if you want a safe place through the news that is growing by the day. The bad news of the day is a wedding cry... "come to the wedding hall"...”reach to shine forth in the harvest”... the vast majority of Christians are doing their best to act normal in the most abnormal time the earth has ever witnessed. This is considered treason by Jesus, since he gave detailed instructions on what to look for in the harvest season:

Matthew 24:32-39 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

You don't want to act normal when you are supposed to be building an ark. That is what the cities of refuge are: safe places, built by Levites, for those who want to escape punishment for crimes they aren't guilty of because they are exempt from the law:

Numbers 35:10-12 “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan, then you shall appoint cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the manslayer who kills any person accidentally may flee there. They shall be cities of refuge for you from the avenger, that the manslayer may not die until he stands before the congregation in judgment.

Cities of refuge are about judgment, just as Noah's ark was. Right now, by all the signs, an ark is necessary. The fruit is ripe, and it needs to be harvested. The cities of refuge are where the fruit of the Lord's harvest will be taken in and kept safe, but in order for them to be built, an entirely new paradigm of what it means to be a laborer and co-heir with Jesus must be understood. Jesus' end time plans are all consuming...on purpose!

This is accelerating. Time is short. Now is the time to get understanding. If you won't take the time now, when it is still easy, what will you do when the intensity increases and it is MUCH harder to settle down and get understanding?
